Popped and poured. This seems to have developed quite nicely. It is an oily golden yellow. Brilliant. Unmistakeable Meursault nose of grilled nuts and crushed stones. Beautiful. Nice fruit in the mouth, well-balanced though perhaps just a touch on the acid side. That is a quibble, as this is drinking quite well with a lovely, creamy finish. 5-13-16-8: 92/100. (I wouldn't be surprised to see this rate a point higher with more bottle age. Seems to have plenty of time to run.)

Darker yellow in color. Chalky nose with ripe notes of tangerine/meyer lemon. Disappointing on the palate, finishes flabby. No noticeable damage to the wine, but it may not have been stored properly.

The nose is really minerally and wet rocks, chalk really comes through. Then toasted nuts, a lot of lemon and ginger. On the palate, very clean. Very high acid for my taste.

2018 Visit to Vincent Girardin with Marco (Meursault): The best Blanc so far. Marco described the vineyard as “the top of the valley, with very light clay and breakable chalk”. The bouquet put me in mind of powdered chalk with pear, nectarine and lemon. A precise bouquet. In the mouth, citric and mineral, showing some malic green apple. Acceptable acidity. The best structure and length to date. Good, at this level. Bottles per annum typically 11,000 – 12,000.

dry, mineral/saline, white to yellow fruit, a hint of nettles or some kind of sharp herb. I liked it. A bit steely, if not for the light oak I would think it's a Chablis. lemon, citrus on the finish. Very pleasant and a good drinker now but the balance should keep it around for a little while.

Winebar [4 Whites, 8 Reds, & 7 *shared* Reds] from 01/04/19 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): Typically, from 55 yr old vines grown in clay & limestone soils with a little bit more chalk on a steep slope with E exposure above the Premier Cru parcel "Les Genevrières”. "Grapes are lightly pressed in a pneumatic press at a low pressure to get a slow extraction. After a gentle racking of the must, the wine is put in FR oak casks of 228 liters (15% new) for both alcoholic & malolactic fermentations with wild yeasts & wild anaerobic bacteria. Aged 16 mos on fine lees. A month before the bottling, the wine from the different barrels is put in a s/s tanks to make the blend."
N: Intensely fragrant MUSHROOMS & earth intertwined with smoky oak
P: LM body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish, pleasantly chees-like frt BEAUTIFULLY counterbalanced by acidity which seemlessly transitions into a very LONG finish with a delicious TANGY/swtness (60:40) that verges upon pucker. VERY *impressive* for now & through '23 (?), + I can see improvement through '19. My EXC/EXC+. 16.5/20 Jancis Robinson. [Outside of an outlying $59.99, this vendor's $74.95 is currently 3rd lowest of wine-searcher's 4 U.S. postings.]
Note: GLAD I'm cellaring the '14, which was then but $49.95 from the same vendor!
