  • This could almost pass for a Muscadet or vice versa. The palate shows as somewhat grippy grapefruit pith. That distracts a bit from an almost electric acidity. The nose shows some mineral but also like a more diesel sense like more aromatic varieties can. IOW, I would be hard pressed to guess Chablis blind. It's a very good wine but shows far afield from the other vineyards. At least in this vintage. It also could be this is in a funky phase and wants a bit more sleep. it has been in bottle for almost four years now. It's quite fresh and not showing age. I'm not sure where to go with it. At least right now it's not what I'm looking for in a Chablis but it's a very nice wine. It obviously won't hurt to leave it alone a couple more years and see whether it just is what it is or if it's going to blossom into another phase of life.

  • Enjoyable straight from the fridge
Fleshy ripe fresh juicy fruit but still clean and pure with no oak influence

  • By the glass. Nothing special but with a delicious saline note. Slightly mineral and markedly citrus. On the palate those refreshing and vivid echoes are reproduced. Without great length I have to say.

    Por copas.
Nada especial pero con una deliciosa nota salina. Ligeramente mineral y marcadamente cítrico. Al paladar se reproducen esos ecos refrescantes y vividos. Sin gran longitud.

  • 2016 Louis Michel AC and Premier Cru Chablis (Dig Wines, San Francisco): Light yellow. Riper and less seashore notes than the Vaillons. Rounder, more amplitude. Twist of orange, moderate acidity, terrific feel (especially for unoaked Chablis). This is sort of the converse of the Vaillons insofar as the grip and intensity fall off toward the end.
