A light bodied but lean Barbaresco. No violet or eucalyptus on the nose, just cherries and spice. It is light but serious, with a layer of acidity on the edge of the cherries and some very fine tannins that are more noticeable on the finish. Enjoyable food wine with plenty of life remaining. It feels young, not disjointed but still a little primary. Will revisit after 25.

Just about ready to drink, better with food for me. Very fine boned and elegant, floral and bright red fruits, very satisfying now but should improve over the short to medium term

I thought I’d open another 2014 Barbaresco ... this is another lovely, lighter bodied Barbaresco, that is approachable - quite early - now ... Pale pinky maroon, you can see your hand through it ... Lifted aromatics, very attractive. Red cherries, strawberries, rose petals, menthol and crushed fresh herbs. In the mouth, a savoury, herbal entry. Savoury and dry across the palate including on the moderately long finish. Red currants, some strawberries, tilled warm soil and blood orange. Below mid weight but with sufficient concentration and volume. Vigorous acids. Satiny tannins. Elegant and refined. Excellent! Drink or hold.

This one had nice character, very good finish. Still a barolo light kind of wine, with a hint of tar and dried flowers, maybe menthol... pencil shavings... Very good with herb rubbed roast pork. I'd say to start drinking these. Good QPR too.

I’ll start by saying I am one who usually prefers a wine on the first day that it has been opened, and it is rare that I find one that I prefer, or even enjoy on the second or third day. This bottle was opened by a friend about 5 weeks ago at a dinner with Danilo. They didn’t get to it and the full bottle was re-corked and put in the refrigerator until last night when we popped and poured the wine. Surprisingly, this was in very good condition and enjoyable. There is a light menthol and floral note on the nose. Red berry fruits, with a light mint and an earthy, soil like accent. The tannins have softened and the wine has vibrant acidity. Lighter bodied as many are in this vintage. We tasted this back in the fall at the winery, and a newly opened bottle was more concentrated and tannic. While this didn’t see a lot of air, I am surprised at how well this held up after being opened. We enjoyed the wine.

fairly tasty, probably needs more time to see how good it will be. Hold for a year or two.
