We are not the biggest fans of Shiraz/Syrah, so were a bit hesitant to open it, but we were celebrating, and i had cooked a Lamb Shoulder with Roast Veges, so a bold dark wine seemed like a great accompaniment.
Wow, that wine impressed! It's so dark, smells wonderful, as unexpectedly sold, none of the normal bite of a Shiraz. Looking forward to letting it decant for a while longer before continuing with enjoying it. Nice to see that it may still be available, as we want more of this one!
Well, it was still great after a day decanting... along with an early candle-lit Valentines dinner, due to a horrendous sudden, short storm causing 500k houses having no power! We still have no power a day later!

Plum and blackberry monster and there was little complexity and even the nose was muted today, isn't this the same bottle we loved from Bangkok BKK Airport a few years ago!? I think our palate has significantly evolved since "back then".. Happy new year 2022!!

This one needs (!) decanting. 1 hr was not enough, still improving at hour 3 when we finished the bottle. Should’ve done more research. ~ Cooked black fruit, mild vanilla. Prune and blackberry.

After a two hour decant this was approachable. Rich Shiraz with a medium and smooth finish. Wonder what a 4 hour decant would have done to late now as it’s the last one. Thoroughly enjoyable with traditional bangers n mash

One glass. A couple of points taken off for protruding alcohol. Has aromas of black raspberries, cherries, vanilla hints and blackberries. Its medium to full bodied a bit confected and unbalanced low acid palate has obvious sweetness, nice plush nicely oaked middle. Ends a bit sickly sweet because of the alcohol and with high tannin. 14.5%. Unbalanced.

The blend is 85% Shiraz & 15% Mataro. The wine is black, only the disc is deep purple. To the eye it reminds me of my mother-in-law's ripe jelly. It looks almost like coulis. The nose is hot and sweet. Very ripe black fruits, pretty floral aromas, a bit of tar. The breeding is slightly transparent through a nice touch of vanilla. Spices are hardly present. Nothing to do with French Syrah of Rhone Valley. The mouth is the concretization of the nose: it's fruity, it's very ripe, it's generous, it's bulky! The palate is mainly fruity (black fruits). The wine is creamy, full-bodied and of a beautiful roundness. Easy to drink. There are some tannins slightly veiled. The persistence is all of fruits and of a very good length. There is however a lack of acidity and spices: the wine evolves on the edge of the razor, always at the limit of the weariness of taste buds. Do not uncork the magnum size, the 75cl bottle is enough. Friends of finesse, delicacy and freshness you can go your way. But I had a great time with this wine. So much volume, muscles, strength & generosity… It's quite confusing… But I liked, I had fun with this wine. It's a beautiful discovery. [Photo on Instagram]
