  • Top notch pinot noir! Very well balanced and at 7 years old this wine can go much further. The red cherry, strawberry, and cranberry fruits are vibrant and well blended with a hint of black tea, spices, and minerals that make it oh so delicious and smooth. Great complexity in the layers of flavor with a long finish.

  • Red fruit, cinnamon, underbrush come together in a well balanced Pinot noir. Great depth and texture. Aromatically delightful. This is a layered wine that excites all the senses. Outstanding juice.

  • Drank this from a PNP. Wonderfully balanced, soft, rounded, but with enough fruit and energy to keep coming back to the glass over and over again. Paul's wines are not cheap but I am increasingly finding that his pinots are the only higher-priced pinot offerings that are worth the freight. QPR at $60 is fair but I would still buy it again at this price. I do not see this wine improving with additional bottle time.

  • Decanted one hour before service. In the glass, clear and pale pink at the rim with a slightly violet meniscus, shading to medium-dark ruby red at the core. On the nose, equal parts strawberries and cherries. On the palate, cherries, thyme, nutmeg, and a nice spine of acidity and wet stone that keeps everything in balance. Wish I had picked up more than one bottle of this.

  • Another solid Lato Pinot. Strong aftertaste of tea, very interesting. Dark fruit, zero tannin, very smooth.
Give it a minimum 1-2 hours of air and it continues to improve over the drinking period - about two hours.
Traditional Pinot Bowl for me with Mrs. Ozziewine preferring the New World Pinot Bowl.

  • Dark red fruit dances so elegantly with notes of peat moss, underbrush and fragrant spices. Layers upon layers of goodness. This wine is just entering a good drinking window. Amazing depth and texture. This producer makes outstanding wine, but flies under the radar. Great juice.

  • Coravin'd 1/22 and 2/26, fully opened 2/27. Definitely among my favored wines and wines of the night (although #2 to Hartford Court Fog Dance 2015 on 2/26). Has the full-body, round, fruity flavors I like. Good pinot even at $70/bt.

  • Downright delicious. Popped and poured, already singing and raring to go but with a slight evolution after some time in the glass.

Loaded with blue and red fruit, this feels as purple as you can get. Tea, smoke, spice, fine tannins. You won’t be disappointed if you open now but could probably go at least another 5-8 yrs.

  • This is a young wine that I opened last weekend and enjoyed but, had to seal it up and put back into storage until tonight. It’s a touch faded (10%) but, like all young wine, resilient.

The nose reveals, ripe & candied; blackberries, dark cherries, plum, well extracted pomegranate, the blue fruits he does so well and I love in Pinot, dry cranberries, poached strawberries, raspberries, beautiful layered baking spices, medium intensity dark spices, steeped fruit tea, red fruit cola, hints of dry crushed rocks, limestone, dark, blue, purple flowers with hints of lavender.

The body is full with a fair amount of tannin presence. Nicely knitted structure, tension, length and balance for such a young Pinot. Ripe & candied; blackberries, dark cherries, plum, well extracted pomegranate, the blue fruits he does so well and I love in Pinot, dry cranberries, poached strawberries, touch of cooked rhubarb, raspberries, beautiful layered baking spices, medium intensity dark spice with shades of palate heat, steeped fruit tea, red fruit cola, saline notes, dry herbs, menthol, eucalyptus, hints of dry crushed rocks, volcanic minerals, dry & moist clay, limestone, leathery, wood staves, amazing dark, blue, purple flowers with hints of lavender. The acidity is excellent. The ripe, elegant, balanced, polished finish is delicious and persists nicely for minutes.

Paul makes beautiful expressions of Pinot, Rhône styles & Chardonnay. If you have not had them, well worth your time & investment to seek out.

  • Such a great nose. Solid and dense on the palate, but never jammy.
