dark red color with purple ring ; intensive berry , violet nose ; full body ; dark fruits, black cherries and plum on the palate. It can be cellared for another decade .

Friday at the strand (Strand Cellars, Croydon): Crunchy blackcurrant, cedar, pyrazine, a saline quality, a little cream with an earthy underpin. More of the same on the palate with a tiny touch of bitter almost burnt coffee to the tannins which are drying and chalky textured. A little alcohol warmth borders on the intrusive on the finish. Not as good as I want it to be but defo different to the last tasting (where I remember it being considerably more jammy)

Grand Cru Cabernet (United Cellars, 140 William Street, Sydney): Cream, slight vanilla, ripe blackcurrant, very slight pyrazine, sweet spice and cedar. Polished. Nice nose. Again the acid a little pokey for me but other than that fruit shows well and tannins are a little course. Okay.

Drank this over 2 nights to see whether I should buy more. Short answer - resounding yes. First night this caught the back of the tongue but opened up nicely over the course of the weekend. Lovely wine, with further upside and good QPR in today’s market (IMO).

Very much in the Woodlands style. Nice wine but needs a long long sleep now.

Very complex. Still seems as though some bottle aging will improve integration.

Kept under vacuum at RT for 24 hrs after the first glass. It was magnificent on the second day. A beautiful smooth wine.

Really nice Bordeaux style wine. Not a strongly fruit driven wine, but beautifully smooth on the palate.
