Inky dark blackness in color. Full bodied. Loads of blueberry pie, some all spice and vanilla Thick and unctuous. Nice acidity. A little flabby when temp gets to ambient room temperature. Decent wine but better value out there.
Grilled chicken kabobs.

Enjoyed this, but perhaps not quite as much as expected (recalling from a tasting years ago, so....). This has nice red fruit, spice, nice intensity with significant acidity and even a somewhat tannic finish. Lots of nice elements, but also not coming together in a way that wows. Certainly a nice take on Zin (blend), but would hope for a tad more at this price point (especially Ontario price).

Very dark garnet. Cherry Cola and BBQ notes on the really delicious nose. Really rich with a body leaning towards the lighter side; ripe raspberries with a pleasing astringency dominate. There are also notes of smoked blackberry jam and boysenberries. The texture is phenomenal. Delicious.

Ridge always does a nice job; haven't had a "bad" wine from them. But this is the lowest part of their Totem pole and it shows. Extremely drinkable, but a little too smooth/plush and not enough acidity and structure. Alcohol was hot on the nose and palate and there was a slight nail polish remover tinge alongside the booze on the nose. Liked it and a decent value at $20, but it's probably worth spending $5-15 more to get a more precise bottle from them. No reason to age this bottle further.

I'm a big fan of Ridge wines in general. In this instance, the fruit is balanced with spice, medium plus body, and a clean finish with adequate tannin. Fine with grilled meats or after dinner with a chocolate cheesecake brownie (not that I would know).

Nice not overbearing fruit. Tannins mid palate. Acid medium, high. Every part of 14.3 alcohol. Probably great with food. Great nose of red fruit. Good for price point. Not as fruit forwards as their other red blends.

Nose of raspberries, cherries, and canned cranberries. Similar tastes with the slight addition of vanilla cream. This is a very fruit forward wine with a medium to long sweet finish. Not sure this will improve any with age.

A deep ruby blend of 68% Zinfandel, 15% Carignane,12% Petite Sirah and 5% Grenache, Ridge's 2016 Three Valleys is a wine that flirts with overripeness from attack to finish. Dark plum and boysenberry fruit is accented with licorice, tobacco and notes of prune. Despite being very ripe, this full-bodied offering has relatively good acidity, supple tannins, nicely integrated alcohol (listed as 14.3%) and equally well-integrated oak. The middle palate shows good density and the medium-length finish is fairly smooth. While this wine's structural positives are mitigating traits, I can't issue a higher score. This would best be consumed over the next 2-3 years. Drink now-2022.

(Wine Tasting Club) Ruby color with medium legs and light sediment. Spice and plum on the nose, first sip gives flavors of boysenberry and pepper spices. Light body with a juicy texture, short finish and medium acidity.

No specific notes - classic dark berry fruit with savory spices on the finish; maybe a little subtler than most Zinfandel. Good value for the money at a little under $30.

Nice bottle of Zin here. A bit big up front with darker fruits but very tame on the finish. Full bodied, but not as full as past vintages. Definitely a good go-to Zin.

A young Zinfandel but like its Ridge stablemates this Three Valleys is well made and delicious. It opens to black and purple fruit, with whiffs of tar and red fruit in the foreground. The palate is smooth, balanced, and ready to go, but it has enough heft, cut, and structure to gain complexity if given the chance. Darjeeling tea laces the back end.

Nice Zin blend, cherry color, cherry and spices nose, medium bodied, smooth finish. It tastes like raisin, cherry, apricot, apple, black pepper and other spices.

Nice plum-driven nose, with a modest amount of oak. Good acidity, a slight tannic bite toward the end (no doubt from the Petite Sirah), with a nice balance overall. Clean, pleasant and well made, but I could say as much about wines that cost less than this. There is good structure in this wine, so perhaps something more interesting will develop in two or three more years?

Nice nose of dark fruit and initial taste is pleasant with some vanilla and sweetness at the front; the evolution and finish are quite tart and Puckery; overall a bit disappointing for this top producer

Fruity and spicy, very tasty. Paired with a rack of lamb, and it worked well. A good price point as well.

Ridge is one of our favorite labels, esp their Zin blends. This was our first Three Valleys and unfortunately it was underwhelming.
