Concentrated, highly aromatic and flavorful delivering mouth coating blackberry, plum and licorice. Medium acidity, medium to full bodied and well integrated tannins. Ripe but not overly done. Good QPR. NI:4, FI:22, FC:8, B:3, L:3

Leider keine Notizen gemacht.

Huh. I ended up liking this way more than I expected for a St Emilion from Magrez. Fairly jammy on the nose, but not a trace of jam on the palate. Instead, there is finely balanced and succulent red fruit. Well-extracted yes, but not close to tipping over. Nice freshness from clay-ish minerals, seaspray and a squeeze of grapefruit peel. Moderate but approachable tannins. Finely balanced. Very good to excellent.

This wine is what I expect from a First Class Right Bank Bordeaux blend. Aromas are moderate upon opening the bottle of dark cherries, raspberries and ripe plums. The wines mouth feel is full and luscious of vibrant red fruit flavors and well balanced with acidity. Long lingering finish…another outstanding wine from one of Bernard Magrez’s winery teams!

2017 Chateau Fombrauge, St Emilion. Decanted 3 hours. Blend 93% Merlot 3% Cab Franc. Purple in color, almost inky. On the nose, big aromas of Blackberry, Cassis, Petrichor, and cigar box. On the palette, black fruit , Blueberry, mushroom, leather. Firm acidity and sticky but silky tannins. Great complexity and balance. Some dust, cedar and spice in a long finish. This is a fabulous wine now and it’s only going to get better in the coming years. I’m ordering a case right now. 95/100 Cheers.

Sweet and fruity nose. Strong cherry, strawberry and plum. Light to medium finish. Just a touch acidic. It’s good although a little too light for more tastes.

A fine wine that bodes well for the others of the 2017 vintage. Deep red in the glass. Nose full of fruit - berries with a hint of cherry. Taste of red fruit like strawberry and plum. Smooth finish but on the shorter side. Medium legs. Wine would be helped by a few years in the cellar.

Forward, soft, round and on the fresh side, this wine offers sweet, black cherries, licorice and dark chocolate. Made from a blend of 93% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc, there is a bittersweet, cacao overtone floating in the juicy, red plum finish, adding more richness on the palate.

Dark color , nice Bordeaux nose. Easy to drink now and why wait if you like them fresh…Bordeaux now a days , and no need to lay down 15 years.

Merlot, Cab Franc, Malbec & Cab. Great QPR- sexy wine-medium to full-bodied- nicely integrated oak, & outstanding length on the finish.
