Many years have passed since I've had this wine, but it hasn't missed a beat. Elegant and structured, with leather, cherry, black raspberry, and plum flavors. Excellent acidity and brightness. It's not flashy, but it's well-knit and rock-solid. A superb wine at this price point.

Monthly Kermit Lynch tasting at Wine Wizards: Unadorned with oak and juicy. This is a solid young style wine. Intense color, great fruit, body and clean finish. Bring on the beef stew. Show this to your red blend friends, you don't have to overdo oak and mega red to make a lovely big wine.

Taste New Wines for September (San Diego Wine Co.): 60% Carignan, 30% Grenache, & 10% Syrah grown in silica, clay, & limestone (gravelly with large galets, or rounded stones) soils; "60% of the wine ages 8-12 mos in FR oak barrels, the remainder in cement tanks."
N: RIPE berries with smoky & earthy components
P: LM body; Nice frt met by some puckerish astringency which transitions into a LONG finish with a swtness to the dusty tannins & OCCASIONAL *hints* of a quasi-bitter flatness to come? NEEDS through '19, then drinking for 3 yrs more? 14% ABV; My VG+. [This vendor's $12.99 is $2 < wine-searcher's lowest, & compares favorably with Kermit Lynch's $16.]

God! Best lett avkjølt.
