Even at a discount, there are many wines in Bordeaux that are cheaper and I would rather have filling space in my cellar. Some interesting notes of blood orange and nice acid for food, but ultimately a bit disappointing.

Similar to TN 6 months ago. Brought to Thomas’s (again), no decant, and served with his chili and Annette’s pasta. This was in good order off the pour, probably improved incrementally in the hour it was open. Good on its own, probably even better with the well matched food. Not a great wine, but a very good value. 90-91+ if scoring, with possible (small) upside. Drink now-next 3 to 5 years.

Short note: brought to Thomas’s birthday garden party; aerated for about 90 minutes beforehand. Well balanced on initial taste, with decent tannic structure, light acidity, dark fruit, dark earth, spice, graphite. Not getting the alcohol others are. Not terribly delineated—perhaps because of the relatively equal percentages of CS, CF and Merlot, although that’s not always the case with similar blends—nor complex, but enjoyable. Had with bread, cheese and similar snacks, which it complemented, and think it would be fairly versatile with the usual BDX-adjacent foods or on its own. Not sure where others are seeing upside from here, but should hold well for 5 years or so if decently stored. I wouldn’t get up on a soapbox or anything about this, but at $25-30 from online wine discounter #1, this punches at or a bit above its weight and serves the purpose of being something better than decent to bring to non-wine loving friends while having something that’s not a chore to sip. 90+
Big round dark fruit, a bit ferrous on the back end of the palate, but that went from overwhelming to subtle and enjoyable after being open for an hour. Decent wine, wouldn't buy again at $35-$45 buy would buy around $25

Nose of dark purple fruits, burnt cedar, and iodine. Black raspberry earthy plum, and menthol on the palate with lots of chunky tannins, chicory, bittersweet chocolate, and black currant leading to an oak ending. Note this sat outside the wine cellar at room temperature for two years and still had room to develop.

This needed a good two hours of air to open up. Pleasant nose. Flavors were more cab franc than cab savvy. Deep purple. Good finish. Probably needs another few years in a cellar. 87 on opening, 89 after a couple of hours

A little young and rough, will age nicely. Good tannic structure and nice fruit. Perhaps decanting may have smoothed things out but hey, I was zooming. Will hold the other bottles in the cellar

This took a double decant and about 12 more hours to open. Still drinking great on day three. Hide them and you will be rewarded. Nice balance with acid and tannins sticking out a bit--but should integrate.

A nose of some dark fruit and spice, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied Bordeaux red blend, with blackberry, black cherry, some milk chocolate and spice, still young, needs some time. www.winelx.com

Moved quickly from grape creamsicle to bright red WA cab characteristics with a firm tannic structure. Consistent on day 2. Highly enjoyable now if you like them fruit/oak dominant, or in 5-7 years when secondary traits become more prominent. Either way a steal at $30 from WTSO.

Nice, but a bit rough. There are better red blends at this price.

Much better than expected. Recently had the '17, and the '16 was significantly better.

Needs at least a two hours decant to open up. Will revisit after some cellar time.

Maybe too young right now. A bit high in the alcohol. Not necessarily my favorite style.
