Beautiful Spatlese. Elegant and delineated nose of pineapple , peach and honeydew. Palate is balanced with more distinct pineapple notes, meyers lemon and some honey. Great QPR.

White peach, pear and melon on the nose, along with floral and light spices. Medium bodied (7% ABV) with white peach and white pineapple upfront. Mid-body opens up a bit, showing good depth and bringing in passion fruit and mango to go along with richer peach and other mixed tropical notes. Acidity on the backside is excellent and when combined with the tart, citrus-based notes, the result is a wine that's able to show it's richness of fruit on a white-fruit frame and avoid overt sweetness. Showing well at present and should continue to evolve positively for a number of additional years.

A little more concentrated than the cabinet with a hint of honey and mango, behind it ripe citrus and floral notes, very animating. Very juicy and clear in the mouth, some blossom honey and passion fruit, the sweetness is wonderfully integrated and is well buffered by the crisp acidity. Although it looks a little lush at the beginning, but it becomes increasingly clear and mineral in the long finish. A wonderful Moselle late harvest Riesling, very old school!

2017 Willi Schaefer Tasting (Classic Wine Storage, Dallas, TX): The wine was rather closed. Shy aromas of unripe pineapples, flowers, and minerals. Palate added tart apples to the unripe pineapples, flowers and mild minerals. Excellent acids on a creamy mouthfeel. More linear and greater concentration than the Himmelreich Kabinett although not really sweeter.

Very light straw yellow and clear. Racy nose, fresh, with a sweet sensation, floral and herbal (mint, basil). Wonderful palate! Sweet is the first impression, but it disappears almost immediately thanks to acidity and the mineral structure. Light chalky texture. Very long on citrus fruit and full of mineral tension on the finish. Truly splendid.

A beautiful spatlese. Sweet and complex at the same time. Excited to see how my other bottles develop.
