Gibby's Midsummer Nights' Dream Tasting (Geneva, IL): Poured at a retailer tasting. Deep garnet color. Notes of cherry, plum, and an odd note I couldn't place. Nice rush of red fruit, but then a pronounced vegetal character comes out.

Color is dark ruby, but clear. Not inky or thick. Nose is slightly dusty, slightly earthy, with a very light hint of raspberry. The first impression on the palate is a bit waxy with a tinge of coffee grounds and burnt fruit. There is leaf on the nose, as well as twigs in the taste. This is a very average everyday wine, which is exactly what it was purchased to provide. Nothing memorable, but will due after work. A little sour and a little burnt on the finish. Kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth in the finish.

Harshly alcoholic and unpleasant. Mouthfeel of a lousy pinot noir with the long aftertaste of a cheap muscatel.

Over the top and very single minded sort of wine. No sort of finish to speak of. Sort of like plain grape juice on steroids. Would not buy again.
