Twelve Vintages of Lafon Montrachet: As expected, this was fantastic. I've said it before, but it's hard to overstate how great this vintage of Lafon Montrachet is and will be. With age and maturity, let's hope it's as complete as the 2010.

Atlanta Amoureuses & Monty Dinner: Double decanted for 1.5 hours. Really special, the combination of power and depth with slightly more lemon notes. All 3 vintages were special and had the same thread running through them. Simply superb.

Brad and Diane England and Peter Joseph weekend dinner, Part 2. (Roger Nellans home): Served alongside the '19 Lafon Monty and '10 Bouchard Monty. The '17 showed citrus, minerals, very fresh, some tropical fruit. Very complex, elegant and perfect balance. Excellent fresh finish. Although different style than the '19, I liked both a lot. The '19 had a bit of tropical fruit note, more ripe and viscous than the '17, but still excellent acidity. The '17 had more precision, acidity and freshness. The '10 Bouchard was quite good with tropical fruit, dry extract, rich, nice depth...a little more rough around the edges than both Lafons. By itself, this would be a great wine...but the competition was a bit too much this night.

From release I've loved this vintage. But this bottle was from another planet. Literally off the charts. Sexy, structured, fantastic fruit. The race for perfection is now on between Lafon's 2014 and 2017 Montrachet.

Big and weighty, but not particularly memorable. The only other vintage of Lafon Montrachet I’ve drank before was a 2019 about 2 months ago, which was one of the finest white wines I’ve ever had. This bottle didn’t come close to that, but was still delicious… if not slightly disappointing given the price tag.

Huge. No way I would guess 2017. One of the best whites I have tried. Lots of minerals and stones on the nose. Yet some spritz and vibrancy on the palate. All about the electricity. A huge wine. From Luke

Domaine Lafon Cellar Visit and Tasting (Meursault): Tasted at Lafon. This had been Coravin'ed multiple times over the past two months, and Pierre lost it was losing some steam. Regardless, still wonderful right now. Dense and powerful with maturing orchard fruit throughout and savory spice. Long, still expanding finish. Wonderful 94-ish points, but I would be thrilled to try a completely fresh bottle.

Grand Cru White Burgundy Fest: A bit flat, this was sadly an off bottle of what should have been the WOTN.

Lafon Montrachet vertical with some great champagne and reds. (Four Seasons, Minneapolis, MN): Vertical tasting of Montrachet 2000-2019: Citrus and mineralogy. Very fresh. Balanced, elegant style with perfect balance. Excellent finish. Not as flamboyant as several of the others, but a very solid Montrachet. Top third rating.

Montrachet: Absolute class in the glass. My favorite of the Lafon's in this flight.

My first tasting of the 2017 Lafon Montrachet. Drunk over a three person, five hour lunch, it was all we anticipated. Bravo.
