  • Lunch at San Shu Gong (San Shu Gong, Geylang, Singapore): A rather modern, but very pleasant interpretation of Savigny. The nose was very sweet and flowery, with ripe, almost candied cherry aromas, and then wafts of rose petals along with some of the earth and mineral typical of Savigny. The palate was still really youthful, with the fresh and fine tannins of the 2017 vintage framing pure, cool flavours of red cherries and rose petals, again underlined with a nice bit of earthy minerality. Still a baby, but this was very enjoyable, especially with a braised Teochew intestine dish. I would be interested to see how it develops over the next5-6 years.
