Drinking very nicely now, the new oak is well-integrated with the dark cherry fruits. A full-bodied, quite "modern" wine for sure, but balanced and versatile at the table. At this stage, drinks like Bordeaux meets Southern Rhone meets Ribera del Duero. Might improve with another year, but I think this is at peak.

This wine is drinking nicely. Deep ruby in color, with powerful aromas of dried blackberries and raspberries, leather, savory herbs, vanilla bean and coconut. On the palate, tart dark plum makes an appearance with strong vegetal notes. Tannins are grippy at first, but become more chalky and smooth as it opens up. Medium acidity, medium+ complexity, long finish.

numanthia's entry level offering... feels like it's got the stuffing to be decent with time, but this early on, it disappoints. unresolved oak, one dimensional and a little bitter and sour. hold. (as a point of reference, i drank a 2009 in 2017 and it was very enjoyable.)

A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark purple in color. A full bodied red, with blackberry, cassis, espresso, finishes with chocolate and spice, an enjoyable wine. www.winelx.com

Big, sexy, hedonistic Tempranillo... rich dark fruit, some bitter chocolate, a touch of coconut. The oak influence is discernible...
This wine is seductive. And yet for all it’s dark, concentrated wiles, there is a touch of structure and just barely enough acidity to keep it somewhat balanced. Not the most poised wine I’ve ever had, but certainly not the crassest.
While I’d never mistake it for a California Cab (which I don’t drink much at all), I wonder if this is the closest (spiritually) that Spain gets to that style.
At any rate, not an everyday drinker. But a fun whine to flirt with on occasion - particularly in the presence of good food and much holiday laughter.

Yep, still a fantastic choice for $15-20 especially if you sometimes crave a big, ripe, dark wine- it has no semblance of excessive jamminess even at 15% ABV- it's warming, but there's more than enough fruit and elegant oak to make it feel deliberate. Not elegant or complex, but delicious and fun.
BLACK fruit on the nose, not purple or blue this time, slightly smoky blackberry pie/baked plum mingling with harmonious oak notes of lightly sweetened coffee and root beer. Straightforward but alluring and powerful scent at this price point.
Palate has similar black fruit, with mouth-coating dusty tannins but fine-grained enough to still be very drinkable. Obviously this is not an especially energetic or acidic wine, but there's a surprising pop of raspberry acidity toward the finish that really makes a large difference, and allows you to keep sipping.
I still think 2015 was even better, it showed a really cool ironlike meaty note that's missing here- but clearly still a great version of this style for the price.

Rich, concentrated and powerful, with a nice mix of earthy elements (eucalyptus, forest, mushrooms) and dark fruits (dark plum, dark cherries). Plenty of acidity to make it drinkable even on a hot summer night.

Very young, cranberry, cherry and some minerals on the nose. Cranberry and tart cherry carry through on the finish with a decent amount on acidity. 88 is for today, but I suspect this will improve with age.

Yeah a little too grapey/ sweet in the nose. Palate bursting with sweet fruit and oak influences. However, SUPER short finish. Medium plus tannins that barely hold this wine together. Pass

Still an extremely good wine for the money, a lot of power and deep purple fruit without any clumsiness. Beautiful baking spices, just the right amount to complement the fruit. I think not quite as good as previous vintage, as this time it was missing that savory meaty note, but still really beautiful stuff and in the upper echelon for this price and style.

Purple red. Big, youthful nose. Lots of sweet red/purple fruit, plums and vanilla. In the mouth there is gobs of juicy red fruit supported by surprisingly grippy tannins. Nice wine, very drinkable albeit a bit sweet fruited and one dimensional to score higher.

A Tempranillo from a different area in Spain than I usually opt for. Good QPR.

Underripe red fruit, cedar wood. Oak is more restrained than the 2015 I had a couple years ago.
