42 years old and still going strong. Decanted to help it open and it came out with a lot of forest floor and similar notes. Felt like it would hold up a bit longer, but drinking great.

Enjoyed from magnum. Deep garnet with just a bit of bricking at the edges. Lush nose of red fruit, old leather, mushroom and forest floor. Silky on the palate with tannins essentially fully resolved (but still a bit of grip on the tongue). Lovely finish. Cork crumbled as we opened it, but once we got in, it was glorious!

Dark, rich and absolutely a gem! The cork was within 1mm remaining so watch those few bottles left. 37 years aged and it felt like u could taste the entire history of Napa CABs. A great representation. No wonder why Clos du Val won the Paris Tasting that set the stage for the next three decades of Napa CABs vs Bordeaux. Enjoy the moment!

Cork was good, but bottle tasted corked. sourced from winebid. Quite disappointed as this was supposed to be our evening apex bottle.
