Must have been a nice cottage day (last summer). Rated this 94. Colour - purple, some gradations. Nose - very nice fruit. Red current. Palette - similar flavourful fruits, but not excessive. Soft integrated tannins. Medium body. Over all good balance. One of the best Chianti's I've drank.

Deep red. Opaque. Plum and dark fruit. tighter then the previous wine. Great job by our waiter to serve the two Fonterutoli wine back to back. A bit tight in my opinion. Needs years. This producer makes very dark Chianti. Excellent.

This bottle showed better fruit and a rounder body. Still very tight and austere, good with pasta bolognese but still lacking complexity and balance for my taste.

Man, some of the chianti's lately have seemed flat. I don't know if I should decant, eat with Salami or just cry! Perfectly nice wine with pasta, but ...

Lovely smell but dull in taste. Well past peak, too bad...

In 375ml, has aged nicely--needs several hours open to reveal leathery nose and woody flavors. Very nice with food.

Last bottle (and also the best). Was just OK when 5 years old, but superb at 10 years old.

Wow, I thought it was past it's peak. No, still fab!
Lovely dark cherries and that silky feeling really got me.

Incredibly dark squid-ink purple. Spiced plum nose. Silky entry: smooth mocha, sour cherry & spicy cassis. Lingeringly smooth exit. Still peaking.

Not bad. A little lean, an ok food wine but not worth saving any longer. Probably would be better with some more acidic food, something tomato-based.

Evolved a lot since the last bottle. Surprised by the difference. Rounded cherry, complex and smooth.

Dark rubi, muted nose, not quite like the bottle I drank a couple of years ago. Too dry, tannic and a little out of balance.

Excellent balanced chianti. Probably could have used another year to mellow.

Dark sour cherry nose and full rch fruit on the palate too. Smooth, with a little oak, this has real class. Impressive.

Opened for 1 hour before drinking. Slightly muted, but well balanced for a chianti. Went well with agnolotti with red sauce.

Slightly austere for a chianti. Seemed slightly out of balance with tannin overwhelming the fruit.
