  • Drank from magnum. Beautifully smooth and balanced. Tannins fully resolved but still has a little structure.

  • Strawberry, raspberry, touch of spice, minerals, delish. Those are my notes from 2 weeks ago. Tasted much younger than it's age! Really tasty and drinking excellently now. Your best burg tasting Ty's.

  • Burgundy WIMPS (La Trompette, Chiswick): Medium/deep garnet. Dark fruity - plum, blackberry, slight herbal note. Medium bodied, quite rich and earthy with dark fruit, attractive herbal edge, good length grippy finish. Excellent ****.

  • Medium garnet core, pale garnet rim. Nose is distinctly subdued, with smoky, reduced sulphury aromas, underlying stewed red fruit. Similar on the palate, which is somewhat structureless and lacking depth and length of finish. Something not quite right here - which is a shame as I was looking forward to this.

  • Medium-dark red color with full transparency. Aromas of cherry, strawberry, sous bois, and fennel. Palate shows warm strawberry, cherry, a hint of mineral, some meaty/mushroomy sous bois notes. Drinking in a nice window of maturity for my tastes; very much aligned in the flavor profile with the 2000, but with the added bottle time, showing that much more maturity. Tasty. Drink or hold.

  • Dark smoky strawberry red with medium transparency. Dark cherry and sous bois flavors with some blackberry backdrop and some black truffle and mushroom elements starting to emerge. More masculine than the Clos de L'Arlot, which shows more strawberry notes. Drinking well. Drink or hold.

  • Dark red wit smoky tints. Cherry, herb, tobacco nose. Palate of strawberry, ripe cherry, spice, dried herbs, a bit of mushroom, and a long finish that gets progressively more tannic. Seems to be in good balance right now and has enough stuffing to balance out the structure. Drink or hold.

  • Black cherry, char, lead pencil,
More red fruit on the palate, vanilla, ... dusty tannins, mildly acidiic (less than I remember from the last bottle which was firm as nails). A somewhat drying finish. While this is a nice wine, it's a bit oaked, somewhat simple, and not worthy of it's pedigree/vineyard.

  • What a great thing to find a wine like this being poured by the glass. Deep, youthful color, but this is where my admiration ended. An exaggerated nose of high char wood just obliterated everything else in the wine. Close your eyes and you would think you were gathered around the bonfire. A shame since it clearly had some nice, rather delicate red/black fruit and good acidity underneath the clumsily applied makeup. Aargh, talk about an overwhelming winemaking signature.

  • Deep smoky red color. Strawberry, cherry, cinammon, tart cranberry, tea, and smoke on the nose. On the palate, tart cherry and cranberry dominate with tea and spice framing nicely. The finish is long and acidic with fruit tannins dominating at the end. If the tannins can resolve, this will be a winner. For now, pleasant enough, but not wholly integrated nor balanced.

  • Pale/medium garnet core, pale garnet rim. Spicy, ripe, dark cherry nose, hints of licquorice and earth. Similar black cherry fruit on the palate, spice, balanced acidity. Masculine, with iron notes and some firm tannins on a decent length finish. Has certainly opened out, but should continue to improve.

  • Pale/medium garnet core, medium mahogany rim. Medium intense red cherry fruit, spice and some damp earth, perhaps slightly closed. On the palate this has medium + acidity with medium firm tannins. A medium bodied wine with reasonably good depth on the palate - ripe raspberry fruit with spice and earth emerging on a good length, well balanced finish. A very good wine, this will probably improve/open out over the next couple of years and continue to drink for a further 5 years after that.
