  • the nose just smelled of old wine, farmyard and stewed fruit, reminded me of an old Australian wine that’s over the hill. The palate was actually better than the nose and had some freshness but very little, if any, fruit. It was passable with quite hearty food as the tannins were quite full on but I wouldn’t want to drink more of it than the glass I drank.

  • Very nice bottle, still showing some youthful tightness. Fine Grain Tannins which loosened up over the hour we followed it. Needed more air than it received. Great fruit and balance.

  • 80s/90s Burg dinner at Jade Palace. En Magnum, ex domaine. Deep dark red. This (from such a format) obviously showed much younger than its actual age. Lots of pepper, spice, searing tannin, violets, blueberries, currants. Very primary on the palate as well, with almost "chewy" tannins, lots of acid, spice, cranberries, blueberries, new leather and scorched earth. This would do with an additional 10-15 years of age as it still appears in an almost infant like stage, and the tannins, acid and fruit will definitely need to be more integrated.

  • Didn’t like this at all when opened - tight, tannin, hard. With some time fruit came out, rather masculine black fruit, still some wood tannin, a little ashtray. Others apparently liked, but I thought it tasted like a slightly OTH California Petite Sirah. C+

  • Very burly and structured; rich and extremely full-bodied and spicey. Excellent.

  • This time the wine was in a somewhat dumb phase. Nice aromatics on the nose, but lacking in complexity and mid-palate in the mouth. I doubt the wine will get a lot better, but I would recommend trying it again in 3 or 4 years.

  • Unlike my friends in the US, I have had very good experiences with this wine. It was fleshy, fruity, and deep, with lush colour and good acidity and tannins.

  • Like spending the night in the sock hamper. This was my second and thankfully last bottle of this wine. Gave the first one an 84 and this was not really much better. The nose is very sweet and fruity with musty overtones. Still fairly unpleasant on the palate, thin and sickly. Not a good value at any price.

  • I was hoping for more from this wine. There was never much pleasant on the nose and the palate was watery and insipid. Sure there was just a hint of some interesting burgundian flavors lying in the background but not enough to make this wine worth saving. Hold your nose and try to drink this one right up.

  • bought off the shelf tonight at sams. cork in great shape. good color. not much on the nose at open, got a little better with time. overall, a bit thin and firm tannin. may get better with age and secondary aromas and flavors, but overall a bit light and tight. B
