Disappointing. For what this cost, there is a different expectation. Harsh finish with the fruit flavors feeling too tannic. Food didn’t change the flavor and finish.
Probably not on my re-purchase list.

Fred and Barry rec. T Tasted blind. C = Dichotomy: very light and looks old as there's slight browning on edges, but also looks young at the same time. N (L)= smoky, leathery, cinnamon, earthy, wet leaves, tobacco, forest floor, red fruit, smells a little like brisket. GREAT NOSE, but palate doesn't follow through. N (T) = old world barnyard stink, reminiscent of a William Selyem nose but doesn't follow through on palate. P = on first glass, sour mash of cherry & red fruits, nicely integrated, but very short palate - not much there - needs to be drunk with light fare, like cheese and crackers. Wine got hotter and black peppery with my spicy Mexican food, but very light in body and a short palate at first. Got better as the bottle got colder and opened up, surprisingly, the palate got longer! N of 3rd glass, got LOTS of barnyard that didn't get before and still cinnamon. P of 3rd glass: definitely deepened and got longer. Huge tobacco on palate and wet leaves. Wine got richer and deeper as it opened up and showed some black licorice and pepper. Will write more tomorrow to see how it is next day! O = very interesting wine! Great nose & evolved nicely over time in the glass - would definitely buy more, especially at that price point! Kroger = $12.39 incl 20% case discount

Soft red berry and earthy spice nose. Soft and plush, light-medium bodied palate with good acidity and supple, grounding tannins on the finish.
3.5/5

An acid and oak bath; loads of fruit but overwrought and not “user friendly”.

Gobs of very good fruit and noticeable oak. Overall conveying a sense of wearing too much perfume.
