Purple. No detailed note. This is just the same as three years ago. Maybe it has shed some of its tannin, but it was smooth even years ago. Of course no decant is necessary nor a benefit. 5/12/17/7. Though it seems to withstand the time, one point less than previous note, because I don't believe in a longer drinking window as previous predicted. -2028

Deep purple color. Gorgeous nose of blackberries, black pepper, black cherries, nutmeg, and a violet floral note. Plush and silky texture. Huge mid palate, with loads of black fruit, and spicy black pepper and a cinnamon nite on the finish. Excellent balance, and very nice blend. The syrah is very prominent here, in a good way. Very nice!

Palate: Blackberry. Spice. Blueberry. Dark cherry. Vanilla. Medium plus tannins. Medium acidity. Medium plus body. Medium plus intensity. Medium finish.
Good wine! Decant for 1h before drinking. Drink now to 2027.

Excellent almost every day wine. A notch above Perrin's Cotes du Rhones, and drinking very well right now. Dark fruits, well balances alcohol and oak. Super good value.

This bottle has moments of brilliance, particularly with food, where it echoes its familial grandeur. At its best, velvety, feminine, dark fruit with cassis and plum...but sometimes uneven with strong streaks of bell pepper

Sometimes the wine is so good--medium bodied with nice deep layered tannins...dark fruit, herbal...but other times it is consistent with its price point and uneven

Slo-oxed for 15 minutes. A light ruby color with some light red fruits on the nose. The medium to minus bodied palate showed the light red fruits, along with some earth, a touch of spice, and relatively balancing acidity. Maybe more air (see CJSadler, below) would allow the wine to show its full character. To us it was a wine with a "soft" presence, from a long-standing Rhone family, that you'll want to drink in the next year or two.

Excellent QPR, exactly what you want from what was formerly CDR village. Punchy fruit with that unmistakable garrigue/pepper, sadly only 11 bottles left. Don't age, will keep for a few more years.

Very nice $15 Rhone drinking very well after a decant & pour. Better than the $35 Les Pallieres Racine we had last night, so an extra point for QPR. Thin, but very pleasant. Enjoy!

Prior to a 3 hour decant, this was just a middling Rhone. It finally opened up, with a nose of violets and some nice dark berry fruit; good acid balance. Very good QPR. 14.1% per the label, which seems about right.

Well, ten months ago I liked it more since th e nose was showing more intensity. Since than it calmed down a bit, but it still remains more than a solid, well made cotes du rhone. What I really like is the freshness provided by the minty, herbal notes combined with the dark berry, strawberry fruit. 5/12/17/8. -2028

A consistent value driven wine from Perrin year in and year out. Nothing flashy, just a solid Cotes du Rhone style wine. Usually available from Costco.

Very slightly warm up front. There are hints of some good fruit flavours but it really is too thin through the mid palate. Cost me £14 a bottle, and the qpr is just about ok for that price. There are better (and cheaper) budget Perrin offerings available. Will it roll over your palate as quiet as a church mouse? Yes. Will it impress and seduce? Not me.

Broadly the same notes as previously. Served with rosemary/thyme lamb, carrots, and potatoes. The garrigue aroma and flavor predominated and paired with dinner wonderfully. I've said it before, and I will say it again: The Perrins are delivering ludicrous QPR with this wine.

Paired gloriously with a giant bone-in ribeye with rosemary, potatoes, and spinach with shallots and garlic. Raspberry bramble on the nose, with just a slight herbal note. Palate is more blackberry than raspberry, with definite garrigue herbs, plus tobacco and leather. The Perrins' consistency really shows here. Ridiculous QPR.

50% Syrah 50% Grenache ruby color, gorgeous nose of cassis, blackberries, ground pepper and violets. The Syrah is dominating at the moment and hits the palate with beautiful purity of fruit, ripe tannin and a great finish.

Purple. This stands slightly above the crowd of very good or just reaching up to excellent cotes du rhones. Intense, also elegant nose of black- and blueberries, also some fresher notes from the not destemmed syrah probably, pepper and violets that are altogether carried in a long finish by some refreshing acidity. Already easy to drink and with smooth tannin. 5/13/17/8. 92 from the winespectator, 92-94 from Jeb Dunnuck, 89+ after 90-92 from Czerwinski for the WA. This is ready from the start getting bolder but also a bit broad and less fresh with airing.

Nose: Light red flower, some oak. Light projection.
Mouth: Full, fresh puréed flavors of cherry, raspberry, and blackberry are met head on by a solid red licorice note that fires amidst light graphite and slate notes. A tame but persistent acid ripples throughout, activating it and ushering in an echo of everything that came before.
Overall: This is really solid, showing full, even plush coulis fruits with harmony and balance. Drinks like a $35 wine at half the price. Drink now through 2026.

Pnp. Medium purple-ruby in colour. Nose of red berry skins with some brambly red currants. On the palate, there are garrigue with some unripe peppery red fruits with a nice spicy finish. Medium bodied with a medium finish.
