Unlike others, I didn't find this over-ripe or over-extracted/stewed, although alcohol was 14.5%. Tannins were pretty smooth already. Ripe fruit and decent complexity. Good value at $20.

Overripe - a bit between plum and prune. Other than being (to my classical tastes) significantly overripe, this is correct, pleasant, unobtrusively oaked with moderate dust/chalk tannins, decent acidity. The overripeness is painful, but this is an -almost- likeable wine

Day 1: A bit more fruit up front along with spice, oak and earth. Medium finish and a solid everyday wine drinker. 89 points Day 2: Spice, a bit of funk, lighter fruits and match stick. Medium finish. Solid but not as concentrated as day 1. 87 points Day 3: Still has lots of spice but also showing nice red currants and leather. Medium finish. Good introduction to Bordeaux. 88 points Recommendation: Held steady over the 3 days. Not sure this will gain much traction so drink now to 2021.

An example of the new style of Bordeaux wine: technically correct, little to no sense of place, unlikely to improve with time. Why? Over-ripe, low acidity, low tannin style.

Day 1: Solid on the pop and pour. Subtle funk, spices, graphite, blueberries, sour cherry and red hots (the candy). Very interesting wine and pleasing. Medium plus finish and good acidity. Really like this for under $20. 90 points Day 2: Vibrant with floral, blueberries, boysenberries, graphite, spices and crushed rock. Medium plus finish and good acidity. Still holding steady on day 2. 90+

W/ Jean Phillipe Saby from the estate. 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc. Limestone and south exposure. Generous acid with the right amount of texture. Light baking spice on the palate. Darker fruit aspect (red, black and plum) on the palate. 2013 @ 12.5%, 2010/15/16 @ 14.5%

Day 1: First note on this one. Vibrant nose of pencil lead, rose petals, red currants and tobacco. Good concentration on this under $20 Bordeaux and picks up some nice spice on the finish. Medium plus. This is an outstanding value from Acquitaine Imports. 90 points Day 2: Chestnuts, pencil lead, spice, blueberries and spice. A concentrated wine with a great upside. Medium plus finish. Drinking well now but should improve with some cellar time. 90 points Day 3: Still drinking well with cherry, spice, tobacco and chestnuts. Rustic wine and flavorful. Medium finish. 89 points Recommendation: Cellar for 3 years and enjoy. I don't see this as a long term ager.

Nice wine with cigar, earth, cherry, floral and spices. Medium plus finish and mild funk on the finish. This should age for another 8 plus years. $17.49.

Nose of stewed fruits, some cherries and wet earth. Medium body, not a lot of depth. Pallete of stewed plums, some tabacco. Not what I’d drink again.

More restrained in style, but with concentrated fruit alongside notes of tobacco, spice, and green bell pepper.

The 2016 Ch Saint-Andre Corbin shows a suave nose of bramble, oak, and blueberry nose. Tannic bite on the palate with a lovely boysenberry finish.
