A gorgeous nose of red berries and rose petals. Taking on a hint of earthy development. Silky against the gums, some mineral crunch to the finish. Not overtly complex, but very delicious.

This was a really gorgeous 2017. This Mercury, was so red fruited, with spices, and dusty clay mineral. I loved its balance and poise. An lovely drinker and food friendly wine.

Comme la plupart des rouges de Villaine, c'est frais, croquant, plein de fruit rouge acidulé, bref ca pinotte sans être complexe. Maintenant qu'il est rendu 60$, il s'agit d'un mauvais rapport qualité-prix.

{Cellared since release, #1 of 6, perfect fill} Lighter-styled Mercurey with red fruits, currants that improved over 3 hours, no rush to drink, not yet at peak. Very satisfying without being terribly complex or dramatic, seems all of a piece without anything sticking out as unbalanced. Would give this another 2-3 years but not criminal to drink now, would decant.

Wine is purple and clear ruby color. I was able to see through the wine. Smell of raspberries and cranberries, little wood and brioche. Taste of red fruit, wood and acid. Wine is very well made and harmonizing much as it can considering its youth. Very good wine to drink young and to age.

This is a really good Mercurey that was drinking well shortly after opening with surprising depth to its earthy, dark red fruit and minerally sous bois undertones. There is a very subtle, intriguing, slightly barnyardy note that adds quite a nice nuance. Fully mature to my tastes. Delightful and, in my opinion, a reasonable qpr.

Blind. Not a ton of personality. Nose shows some young pinot fruit. Red fruit. Cherry. My wife kept saying it was Pleasant. It's Open for drinking. Could be pinot from anywhere. Leans new world. Especially compared to the Suchot next to it.

This wine was a bit of a chameleon even after several hours of air. Candied red fruit or earthy forest floor? It couldn’t decide. Almost a little cola as well. Very pretty wine for which I don’t have much context.

Very charming at the moment and far less rustic than many Mercurey rouge. A nice combination of blueberry, violet, pomegranate, dill and fresh beets give this wine a lifted charm at the moment and unlike the firm tannic structure associated with Mercurey, this is very drinkable at the moment. Needs just a little time to show more of its material. Graceful.

perfumed with intoxicating aromas of red berries, lavender, brick and fresh brewed black tea, energetic and alive on the palate, deep flavors of dried berry, fresh herbs, strawberry and mineral, even more mineral on the finish, outstanding terroir, a complete wine that is beautifully structured, all together elegant and would pair well with an elegant but un-heavy meal

Joli nez mais la bouche était un peu fade, la comparaison avec des gros canons n'a probablement pas aidé.. sa jeunesse non plus malgré une carafe de 2hr.

Take me to the river . I Let it breath in the decanter/ glass for an hour. And enjoyed over three from there . lovely young garnet colour . The nose is fresh and racy . Rising fruit waiting to calm down . But a beautiful cooked strawberry raspberry cherry nose - with a touch of faint mint or dill ? Doing some great things allready . Super clean with punchy harmonious fruit . Lovely long finish . Can't wait to try another this time next year .

Didn't get a chance to focus on taking notes but it was red fruited, delicious, bright acid, clean, pure, balanced and tasty.

Een mooie Mercurey, met frisse zuren en de verwachte griottes. Heel mooi gevinifieerd, heel aangename wijn.

High toned delicious pinot. Use of old wood is done really well.

Very enjoyable. Complexity is present but still some way to go.
Served with roast turkey breast.

Weightless sappy raspberries, violets, hint of sauvage. Feminine and refined. Delicious!

Very nice and elegant PN. It was easy to drink and a joy too. Reminded me about a NZ Pinot.
