Simply an amazing wine. Well balanced with big but pleasant tannins. Drank after being opened for about an hour with a wonderful beef course at dinner. The sommelier was very impressed with the wine as well and was very appreciative we shared. Could still last for many more years, and I am going to contact our friends in Italy to try and get more. Simply stunning.

Vibrant, bright cherry red in the glass, with no signs of age whatsoever. Decanted less than an hour and paid the price for the first half of the bottle.... very tannic, with fruit and spice way in the background. After hour two, this really opens up. Spice, hot tar and fruit cover the palate. A youthful Barolo going on age 10.

Upon initial pop and pour- extremely tight, gave up little in aroma or taste- almost gave up on this wine- but after extended decant, dramatic transformation. Almost floral nose, then jammy, fruit forward on palate with drying tannins on finish. I'd guess this will considerably improve over the long haul...

Well, I didn't expect that. That was the kind of wine that makes me want to go to the basement and open more bottles with the hope of finding a gem like this. I'll buy more. I believe it will improve for 10+ years. But man! (I know you may have found these notes unhelpful).

Palate: Great balance and tension. Eucalyptus, thyme, & brooding cherries.
Finish: Medium. Semi-tannic.
