This is the only white wine made from the Clos Vougeot vineyard, which is neat. It shows popcorn, lemon curd, honeydew melon, white flowers, and a little tropical fruit. Full bodied with a round mouthfeel and noticeable malolactic, but lifted acidity keeps it fresh and lively. Good persistence with a touch of chalk on the finish and the faintest whisper of an oxidative nuttiness. I usually go for a leaner style but the quality is undeniably there. Drink or hold

This is quite good and more nuanced than a couple of years ago. Somewhat humorous to read Jancis saying “refined” and Alan saying “ not refined” in 2019. It is refined now. The richer tones are now giving way to a more balanced citrus, lemon and pineapple backbone and a hint of caramel with those fruits on the palate. Good finish as well. No decant needed.

Opened a magnum to start our Thanksgiving dinner. White flowers and citrus on the nose. The palate was white flowers, citrus, melon, a hint of apricot and just a touch of pineapple on the finish which was moderate to long. My friends were surprised as it is much different that the oaky and or buttery California chardonnays that they are used to.

This is an excellent white that manages to combine the ripeness, elegance and aristocratic complexity in one bottle. Incredible aromatics that keeps evolving in the glass, layers upon layers of green apples, tropical fruit, flowers, brioche, oyster shells, chalky minerality. Very high, yet super tender acidity that never burns. The overall feel and presence is that of a 97+ point wine, but imho it lacks a bit of depth and concentration on the palate to propel it into the highest leagues. Still a real wine experience.

Lovely complex nose. Yellow fruit, melon, some white flowers and touch of oak. Palate melon, lemon and rind adding acidity. Some herbal and spices from the oak. Lovely salinity and touch of black pepper even. Very complex and interesting.

A pretty pale yellow color. Lemon and wet stones on the nose. Faint tart pineapple, some granny apple, mainly lemon curd- terrific acidic cut. Good finish. Very white burgundy. Delicious.

light bright yellow color, toasty buttery nose, on the palate some heft with firm earth notes to rein in the ripe fruit, pear, granny smith apple, honeysuckle, good length, showy and attractive, room for further development with age.

A grand white burgundy and a rare white wine from Vougeot. Yellow fruit and smoke bouquet. Rich, full-bodied, and intense fruit concentration on the palate. Hint of muscadine too. A complex wine with an impressive long finish. Will age 4 more years.

This is a pretty dancer, light on its feet but richer with classical structure and depth. While not a grand wine with Batard structure or as refined as a top Chassagne , it is a soft, and delicious, early-expressing delight. Notes of mixed citrus, gently ripe peach hints, a bit if mineral- driven acid backbone and a floral. Look for a soft but nicely balanced 2017 to enjoy now.

This is actually quite nice, partly because it’s more giving than most 17s at this infant stage. Moderate yellow, reasonably fragrant. Medium full. Earthy with a hint of mushroom, well judged acidity, lots of character. Seems like a fine premier cru Chassagne even though it’s not really in the neighborhood.

sweet aroma of summer fruit upon opening. Light citrus notes on the palate. An elegant white from Burgundy. Well balanced acidity will allow to age gracefully for quite some time.
