I would have preferred to keep this for a few more years but needed a suitable bottle from my wine fridge to take to a fish restaurant. This was certainly accessible and easy to drink with notes of cherry. Classy and elegant but I only wished I had left it a few more years to, no doubt improve.
Pale ruby color. Medium to pronounced aromas of cherry, cranberry and stone. High acidity, low tannins, medium alcohol, light to medium body. Flavors of cherries, currants, baking spices and nice minerality. Long finish.

Bourgogne visit 29/10-1/11-2023: Tasted 6 different cuvees in Bouchard's cellar. Limited comments. This wine: Medium ruby high intensity but without appropriate concentration. Cherry and liquorice.

remarkable poise, opaque at the edges but full red, floral aroma of rich cherries and lavender, soft undertones of powder, gentle entry with some powder with integrated finish

Delicious, mouth-filling wine delivering complex aromas and waves of flavor. Powerful bouquet of aged strawberry, spice, cinnamon and orange peel. On the palate, medium to full-bodied, with lingering, deep, candied strawberry flavor and notes of prunes and spice. After one and a half hours the bouquet transformed into a dreamy cloud of perfume, and the wine tasted even softer. A gorgeous wine.

This is a bit more robust than most Burgundy; no one will mistake it for Chambolle Musigny. It also is somewhat rustic. Nevertheless, it’s a tasty wine, that would pair well with most chicken dishes. It drank fine with a decant, but might be better in a few years.

Lifted fresh wild berries, hint of pungent pepper, wet stone some underlying toasty oak. Some savoury earth too. Already enjoyable now with smooth tannins.

To be frank, i bought/drank this purely on the strength of the tasting notes below (I’m not afraid to steal ideas ;^) and I agree it represents excellent value. Dark red fruited, it has a gamey-ness that I often find in Bouchard reds, and is in moderation here which i find pleasing. Overall well balanced and tasty
Lots of rich spice on the nose. And raspberry fruit. Great depth here. Palate is oh so lovely. Just a touch clipped on the palate. But whew, that is a beauty.

2017 Bouchard and William Fevres (chicago, IL): The nose is a bit rustic, yet balanced with earthy notes, herbs, sour red cherries, raspberries, spice tones, and a touch of tobacco. The Medium bodied feel is balanced and deft with medium acidity and youthful, medium+ tannins. This could use a few years to fully round into form. There is good depth across the nose and palate with a more earthy and savory take.

2017 Bouchard Tasting (Phoenix, AZ USA): Thought this was “the one” until I had the Baby Jesus. This is terrific, round, supple and a serious bargain. Jesus is better, but Mousse the better value, at least at today’s pricing.

Charming burgundy entering a drinking window with more developed character. Good cola and spice notes to this still relatively tight wine
