  • Kleur: Fluwelig lichtrood. Aroma / bouquet: Super-aangenaam bouquet, bosaardbeitjes, aardbeiencompote, ontbijtkoek, nougat. Algemeen / potentieel: Buitengewoon indrukwekkende Clos-Vougeot. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 13 + Smaak / Afdronk: 18 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 95/100

Colour: Velvety light red. Aroma / bouquet: Super-pleasant bouquet, wild strawberries, strawberry compote, gingerbread, nougat. Taste / Aftertaste: Pleasant acidity, powerful but soft tannins, beautiful filling in a wonderfully beautiful balance. A mouth full of wine, but buttery soft and harmonious. Beautifully retro impressions of strawberry compote, licorice and nougat. General / potential: Extremely impressive Clos-Vougeot. 50 + Colour: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 13 + Taste / Aftertaste: 18 + General / potential: 9 = 95/100

  • Very charming and alluring with red and blue fruit. Palate was ethereal and light but it also showed penetrating sweetness. It was surprisingly good to me given I have not been impressed by this domaine before. 92-93

  • La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Walk around tasting. Red cherry to start with black cherry coming through as well on palate. Rich throughout with good density with subtle savory spice. Already well balanced, but there is even more still in reserve. 92-94 point potential, 2025 forward. Much more exciting to me than Grands-Echezeaux, this even seemed more Vosne-like!

  • La Paulée 2020 Grand Tasting of 2017 Burgundy (Pier 60, New York): Floral and perfumed, more green notes than the other wines. Both great earth and deep, sappy fruit. Round tannins and strong acidity. This is also special and has all of the ingredients to become a great, long lived Clos Vougeot. The Eugénie wines blew me away this weekend.
