  • Very dark purple red (bordering towards black); nice brooding rich dense nose, blackcurrant; rich attack, licorice, tannins, tobacco - all in a finely measured ratio with good acidity level; still quite young and untamed, lots going on, will be interesting to follow

  • Lots of alcohol and heat on PnP. After a few hours it started to open nicely. Black pepper dark fruits long finish. Perfect pairing with a ribeye. While I like this wine young it has the cojones if you forget about it for 5 years or so. Score based on today I could see 94-95 in the future even for a 17 vintage, which so far has been mediocre IMO.

  • Dark red almost black; nose not that present, a bit faint, some blackcurrant; medium bodied, lots of licorice, somewhat dry slightly moutplucking ending - give it some air/decant or maybe some more years - right now young - seems to have good potential - wait perhaps 5 (?) years

  • Albeit pricey, this is probably one of the best US produced Syrah / Syrah blends on the market. Always a very alluring and appealing wine, smooth and polished, showing elegance and class. I’ve enjoyed five vintages of this wine dating back to 2005. This particular iteration is a medium purple color, opaque. Full body texture. Developing. Pronounced aromatic and flavorful primary purple florals, blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, smokey raspberry, and licorice, followed by secondary notes of vanilla creme, and chocolate with faint bacon fat, and chewy black mulch underneath….structure is unobtrusive but lingering in the background. Great balance, strong intensity, long length, and evolving complexity. Enjoyed with grilled jalapeño sausages and peppers and onions; can be enjoyed now, but it should cellar for another 5-7 years before peaking. Drink through through 2032

  • Pnp a glass and then decanted the rest for two hours. Deep purple color. The nose shows herbs, spice, dark fruit, black pepper, plum, and burnt rubber. The palate shows much of the same with beautiful structure, strong tannins, and medium acidity. Medium finish.

I would lay this wine down for a few years. Maybe revisit in 5-7.

  • This Syrah blend from Napa Valley is delicious.

Good right out of the bottle and better after 2 hours of airtime.

Rich and extracted. Fruit forward and spicy.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity.

Showing black fruits with cedar vanilla leather spices tobacco, herbs, light vegetables, chocolate coffee peppercorn

Jammy a bit and still young. Needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly.

    15.8% alcohol by volume.

  • Dark fruits and chocolate aromatics.
Rounded palate that is full throttle in all dimensions. Perhaps some oaky notes that will better integrate over time.
A touch of heat on the finish which detracts only a bit given the opulent nature of the wines other qualities.

  • A blend of mostly Syrah with some Petite Sirah. Absolutely delicious! Heavy hitter on the nose and palate. Aromas of blueberries, boysenberries, plum, nutmeg and cassis. The palate Carrie’s these effortlessly with perfect acidity, structure and tannins. Easy drinker young with a bit of air, but wouldn’t hesitate to put some away for awhile either.

  • One of my younger associates stopped by the house to wish me a Happy New Year and brought a half a rack of ribs that he had smoked. Well I convinced him to stay for a glass of wine and one of the ribs. We opened this and pnp'd a glass. Time being open or decanting would have definitely improved the score. So we each had a glass and then I recorked it and sent it home with him. For my New Years dinner I have a 2013 Realm Farella which has been slow oxing most of the day. Anyway to the Relentless. Dark Red fruit on the nose. The palate was plum, black cherry and hints of spice. The finish was moderate to long. Honestly it was the first bottle I grabbed and it was probably way to young. Happy New Year everyone.

  • 86/14 Syrah/Petite Sirah.

Medium nose shows black fruit, iron, mineral, bloody feel. Palate is more medium bodied than expected, nice layers of black fruit, fresh spice, hint of game, 2nd taste gives more structure, medium plus tannins, alcohol, spice in the finish, still approachable though. Tons of flavor and may be more ready to drink than other vintages of this wine.

  • Deep purple color. Aromas of saucy plums, black currants, roasted figs, with these deep, dark, earthy tones, charcoal and graphite. Big and bold on the palate, juicy tannins, moderate acidity, it is boastful but nuanced with suave, tangy currant and plum fruit. Complex notes of mesquite, beef jerky, mint, leather, rocky elements that are delicious and fascinating to pull out. I feel like these need quite a bit of time to show their best – I think this will be beautiful in eight to 10 years. Includes 14% Petite Sirah, aged 30 months in new French oak.
