Two hour decant, wasn’t enough. Had a bite on the tongue for the first hour after decant. After that, really smoothed out and became the 93 that we scored it at.

One hour decant. Very very deep magenta color. Blackberry, black cherry, chocolate malt, orange rind, and wild strawberry on the nose. Dry, plush palate, with fine, prickly acidity and a note of coriander. Full, round tannins on the longish finish.
For whatever reason, I thoroughly enjoyed this Cabernet last night. It’s not overly complex, but it’s beautifully built and integrated.

Manursing Memorial; 5/27/2022-5/29/2022: After a several hour slow ox, the 2016 Turnbull Amoenus offered up moderately strong aromas of black fruit, cacao, and savory grilled herbs. On the palate, the "wild strawberry note" AGELVIS mentioned provided nice balance to the otherwise darker profile. The oak's now well integrated, the tannins are plump yet still pleasantly dry on the finish, and all that leaves me thinking that it's time to drink up now and over the next 7-10 years (though I am personally curious to see how this might evolve over the longer term).

Blueberry, cassis, sage, bell pepper, graphite. Alcohol is hot on the nose. Palate has complexity and salinity which makes you come back for another sip. Ripe blueberry, baking spices, silky and integrated tannins. Drinking well.

Three hour decant (two would be sufficient). Deep dark magenta color. Blackberry, dark raspberry, fennel, plum, powdered sugar, and subtle prailine on the nose. Dry, plush palate, with vibrant and slightly chalky acidity. Satiny tannins on the longish finish.

Four hour decant. Deep dark ruby magenta color. Blackberry, black cherry, toasted fennel, baker’s chocolate, black walnut, and subtle tar on the dark, serious nose. Smooth, tongue drying palate, with vibrant acidity and a wild strawberry note. Firm tannins on the long finish.
This is developing very nicely. I’ll try a shorter decant on the next bottle (2-3 hours).
Four hour decant. Very deep magenta color. Black cherry, dark raspberry, wax paper, mocha, and subtle butterscotch on the somewhat diminutive nose. Very smooth, dry palate, with modestly chalky acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.
Very nice drinker, but a little closed down at the moment. I expect this will reawaken very nicely within 6 months.

PNP. Very very deep purple-hued magenta color. Black cherry, blackberry, strawberry, cocoa dust, and cherry blossom on the nose. Smooth, dry palate, with nice, lingering acidity. Firm tannins on the longish finish. Several hours of decanting would really improve this beautiful Cabernet (my favorite in the Turnbull lineup).
Nine hour decant. Bright, but extremely deep magenta color. Black cherry, dandelion, thistle, and subtle Boston cream pie on the somewhat diminutive nose. Smooth, tongue drying palate. Firm, full tannins on the long finish.
This is very well built, but seems a bit shut down at the moment. The potential for 96 pts is there.

Eight hour decant. Deep dark purple magenta color. Blueberry/blackberry purée, homemade vanilla caramel, fresh sugar plum, and bay leaf on the deep, fruit forward nose. Smooth, dry, mouth filling palate. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.
Youth is the only flaw here. This is pure, unadulterated Napa Cabernet with wonderful overall structure.

Blackberry, cassis; powerful, fruitful, intense, but somewhat monolithic though still elegant and quite good; slow long finish
