Earthy and a bit rustic on the nose and on the palate with restrained fruit and Mediterranean herbs. An uplift of medium/light acidity on the back palate. Drying medium/light tannins with a lingering flavor of brambly blackberry make for a really nice finish.

Over 2 days. While it does not have the horsepower (i.e., the wine is a bit thin) to deliver that old world, classic CDP taste and aroma that definitely is present in this delicious wine, it's certainly is enough to know that you will not be disappointed. Super QPR.

This bottle is decidedly old world CdP, with an earthy terroir and minimal fruit. I prefer a cleaner, fruitier CdP. Downgrade a point. With great bottle variation, such as this, I’ll be curious as to the next one.
3/4/2022 note: This is too plump/pruny and lacking a cleanness/focus that most excellent CdPs seem to have. Good QPR, and definitely worth drinking, but not upper tier. 89 pts.

Popped and poured. This is a medium red wine with zero sediment anywhere in the bottle. On the nose, I get cherry, mixed spices, licorice, and a hint of brown sugar – the package unfolds nicely over time. In the mouth, this is mid-weight and reasonably structured, displaying assorted red fruits with some bramble. The finish carries the theme with some cherry pie aspects. Overall, I thought this wine is enjoyable now and doesn’t need more time to integrate (it may develop a bit more with additional age, but probably not significantly). This wine falls well – and self-assuredly – within the fat part of the CdP bell curve. It's priced reasonably, as a negociant wine should be. 90 points.

Consistent with my earlier impressions of this, this is a loud but tasty CdP. Everything dialed up, especially spice - agree with the Christmas cake reference from critic’s notes. Kirsch and incense. Mildly tannic finish.

Strawberry and bandaid on the nose. On the palate, cherry, raspberry, and notes of white pepper, plum, and black tea on the medium finish, with moderate tannins and moderate acidity. This is surprisingly light for a Chateauneuf. The Cellartracker drinking window might be a little long, based on the modest level of tannin. It was a good value at a little over $40.

One year since last tasting. This CDP is ruby in color with a nose of powerful floral and baking spice notes. Stewed plums, cherry, blackberry, black tea, mild forest floor, tobacco and leather also on the nose. The palate is thick with all sorts of stewed fruit, and spice. Took a while for the alcohol to dissipate. Still a tad sweet for my personal CDP tate.

Refined mouthfeel and restrained fruit flavors of raspberry coulis and blackberry, and black tea. Well balanced between fruit and light acidity. Soft/refined tannins. Even though it’s young I think it’s drinking nicely. Very enjoyable.

While a huge CDP fan, I was not very familiar with Saint Cosme outside of the exceptional Gigondas varieties they produce. This CDP however was dark ruby in color with a nose of powerful floral and baking spice notes. Stewed plums, cherry, blackberry, mild forest floor, and leather also on the nose. The palate is thick with all sorts of stewed fruit, and spice. Took a while for the alcohol to dissipate. Very sweet is my only knock.

Nose: Sweet orange, red florals, bourbon whiskey, brick dust, ethereal and gorgeous.
Mouth: Cherry and raspberry notes show huge purity and smoothness as they glide through effortlessly, picking up streaks of bergamot, rooibos tea, tobacco and bay leaf. Finish is fine-grained refinement, as the bergamot and tobacco notes really get a chance to shine
Overall: Delicate, seamless, and aligned completely along an axis of red flavors that develop over time on the palate (and with air). Shows poise and grace, wearing its high alcohols well. The herbal accents on the back end are comparatively rowdy, a few years will help to bring them in line.

Nose of cherries, lavender, spice and earth. Tastes of dark cherry, raspberry coulis, blackberry with earth and licorice. Lovely mouthfeel for a young wine. Enjoyed at Brentwood with Lisa and Claire. Would buy again.

Well balanced and on lighter side for this wine. Not as tannic as some vintages.

1 year since my last bottle in 2 years since my first. Certainly seems to be improving, especially with the sweetness level being lowered a bit.
