Fresh red cherries flavor with nice mid-palate, long length and pleasant finish. Well balanced. Somehow, does not work well with food. I tried it with cheese (Piave, Ossau Iraty), chocolate, and pepper seasoned beef roast, but neither worked! Just drink it straight!

Decanted for 2 hours...still tart. Venturi opened the nose to a decent oaky/nutty aroma, and mellowed the taste a bit . Still a little effervescent and dry. Needs more time or more decanting.

About 1 year after first bottle of this overall rating not very different. I found it a bit softer and more approachable this time around. Still some decent complexity with some oak, earthy tones, dark berry flavors. Overall not bad.

strait-forward fruit driven, lush black fruits, low tannin, medium acid, actually went very good with a shrimp and scallop tomato sauced pasta, opens up with some air to deliver a rounder fruit flavor, good

Nose was black cherry and black fruit. On the palate was more black fruit, black cherry and blackberry. There was some nice creaminess to this wine, but not a lot of secondary flavors in this offering. Very simple wine that is fruit forward, but possesses a nice body. A simple, yet solid wine.

nose: big brooding dark fruit based nose with blackberry, black cherry, raspberry, and some anise in the back ground
taste: nice ripe flavors of blackberry, black cherry, and anise
overall: nice structure and flavor profile. A bit too ripe for me in a sense, but this is a good solid malbec. There isn't a whole lot of depth on the flavors, but what it does bring is excellent. The attack is big and it has a good mid palate but the finish is lacking to really propel this wine forward

We enjoyed this wine. Nice round nose, not overly complex. We had the first half with burgers and the second half with Pizza. It was great with both. Would by again.

An exceptional Malbec at a reasonable price. 90% Malbec. 10% Bonarda by winemaker Susana Balbo. It's full bodied and immediately gratifying. The plum and berry fruit is rich and condensed. Moderately dry. Soft tannins. Strong finish. This is New World Malbec for New Wold Malbec lovers. 13.5% alco (D 6, F 6.5; Cent)

This is a good wine, esp. using the scoring standards. Very dark purple, good nose, but not huge. Very silky mouth feel, lots of dark berries with other stuff going on, a sort of earthy undertone which for me is difficult to put my finger on. I got some mint/eucalyptus or something aromatic like that. Fairly long finish. Drank it first night with a short ribs ragu over handmade papardelle - quite rich - and it held up nicely.

Very nice Malbec. Full bodied. Condensed fruit without being overwhelming. Rich berry fruit and spicy with a great finish. Great with or without food. YUM.

On its own this wine is real average. Pair with some meat and it shows well. Not much in the way of nose, thin, without much mid palate. Finish is short. Good QPR with food, beyond that - not so much.

Aromas of dark chocolate and blueberry. Dark cherries on the palate provide solid flavor. Nice dry and flavorful finish. ($16)

Powerful and complex. Herbs, spice and black cherry in the nose. Muscular black and red fruit flavors with a smooth finish.

Wine was very smooth at first then from behind a peppery taster. Nice evening wine to have with some friends, bought 2 more bottles to just have.

Not that great. Some cherry and a good deal of metal. Will try a different Malbec - hopefully they aren't all this blah.
