Real Review Top Wineries tasting (Ovolo Hotel Woolloomooloo): {13.5%, cork, $85} A little tobacco, cherry. Sweet cranberries. Surprisingly confected palate though, with sweet oak, soft cherry flavours, low/medium dusty tannin and medium/high acidity. Medium length finish, sitting a bit on the front palate. Pretty nice wine, if a touch obvious.

Drank at Restaurant Wils. Nice ripe strawberry and raspberry, some red cherry. Good acidity, but feels a bit hollow on the mid palate, although the finish is quite long. I don't think this deserves a 95 score, but its a very nicely made pinot!

Appearance - deep garnet core with bright red hues. Even through the light, it is quite dark yet translucent. Med viscosity Nose - even from the first sniff, I could immediately tell that this was a complex and very refined Pinot Noir. Of exemplary class. After some aerating, I get note of red fruits - ripe strawberries, perhaps some raspberries and some dark cherries. Very floral perfume , with violets, and herbs and spices intermingled. Forest floor and cedar in the background. Palate - wow, first sip really got my attention, it was ripe strawberries, laced with some dark cherries , with dried meats, herbs and forest floor backbone, giving a moreish palate. The very elegant and refine tannins coupled with med level acidity helped ensure a very expansive and long finish. Flavours just stay right to the end. Indeed, an excellent mastery of wine making evident in this vintage, and more broadly across other wines from this winery.
Highly recommended!

Less on the fruit compared to the Sengreal, great acidity, more mineral and more earthy, Barrel Sample, 40-50% whole bunch fermentation, 65% new french oak, 92-94

Red raspberry, strawberries, oregano. Personally, I think it needs a lot more time. Preferably another 5 years min to show more.

Juicy red fruit, green herbs and nice minerality. Drinks well right now.
