Visually, dark ruby, high opacity and orange notes progressing to the edges. Upon opening the nose was meaty vitamin B with blueberry but with time showed black cherry, green notes and a meatiness with black pepper notes embedded. Great pure fruit with an intriguing complexity. The profile enters with cherry blueberry and a certain spice cake flavor. It is balanced and well integrated with a long textured finish. Delicious!

Was tasty, but the cork had become stuck in the bottle and dried out so it was not able to be removed. Had to ultimately push it into the bottle and then use a strainer which only worked moderately well.

Tasted after 45 minutes of air. Medium ruby color. Smoky bacon fat on the nose. Bright red berry fruit on the palate. Fine grained tannins nicely integrated. In a perfect drinking window now. Excellent.

PnP. Nose of black cherry with a slightly sour cherry underneath, along with meaty notes. Bloody meat, peppery black plum, dried sage, and green peppercorn notes, followed by earth and wet oak. Acidity tannins build on the finish with bright red fruit notes, tamarind notes as the acidity builds to a crescendo, then crashes into rocks and tannins. Nice balanced with plenty of energy.

Vinturied into decant and consumed over several hours, And it took several hours to open, and it had more to go.. That said, the beautiful funk is on full display here, showcasing the Wahluke Slope AVA. This however did lack some meat in the middle and just slightly closed down on the finish. Young with time in the cellar will help this wine out. Drink now with serious air thru 2025/7

This wine was leftover from a Covid zoom tasting that I did with work colleagues last year. I didn’t love it then and never entered the spare bottle into CT. But continuing with the Syrah theme, found it and decided to open for my husband last night, especially when the Horsepower was starting to seem undrinkable. On first opening was fruity with a touch of savory but really not very interesting. I tried a glass and then went back to the Horsepower which had improved and let my husband happily finish this bottle. However, at the end of the night, after perhaps 3 or 4 hours of air, I found one last glass remaining and it was a different wine. Full juicy red fruit, much more texture and nuance. Surprisingly layered for the price. With 4 hour decant a great QPR.
A big wine, deep, with a lot of weight on the palate. Would have benefited enormously from decanting for aeration. Dark brooding fruit with cocoa, coffee, mocha notes. Still young, will benefit from additional time in cellar.

Smoky and meaty, with ripe black and blue fruit and a dark coffee note that lingers in a good way. After an hour or so, cracked black pepper and chocolate notes also emerge. What make this especially tasty though is the spot-on acidity, keeping it feeling fresh throughout. Outstanding value for $29.

Method: blind; 1.5 hour decant; 62 degrees; red wine glass
Look: medium- ruby; bit of watery rim; a lot of thick, medium-slow legs
Nose: ripe-ish strawberry, dry dirt, dried leaves, potpourri, rose, blood orange peel; not very expressive (it did open up more later)
Palate: blood orange, cranberry, salinity, dry earth; medium+ finish of potpourri, white pepper, light dried herbs; dry; medium- body; medium rough tannins; medium acidity
Upon my initial tasting, I scored this an 87, but the next day this opened up wonderfully with notes of black olive meat and a bit of meat with the tannins smoothing out nicely.
Overall thoughts: This is a bit young, so if you have it not, give it a lot of air. Once it get a a lot of air, it's a great wine, with very good balance, great mouthfeel, and a great cooler climate flavor profile. Great value.

Dark reddish-purple garnet in color. Full, forward, & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blueberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty notes, spices, cocoa, pepper, herbs, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with spices, herbs & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well with decanting & extended airing but should benefit from additional aging at which time it may merit a higher score (92+).

Day 1: Pop and pour and will revisit day 1 a few times. First taste is wood! No score. Day 1.15: Little air has helped a lot. Roasted meats, spice, volcanic ash, dried herbs, red berries and crushed rock. Medium to long finish. This wine needs some serious air. Score withheld. Day 2: Showing some form. Black olives, stone, red currants, spice and floral notes. Much more complexity here and the offensive wood/oak quality on the pop and pour is gone. Medium to long finish and complex. This wine needs a serious decant if you are drinking on day 1. Should be a 4 day review for sure. 91 points Day 3: This is really taking form with red currants, floral, stone, subtle spices, roasted meat and volcanic ash. Medium plus finish and concentrated. This wine rounded out into quite a nice value at $30. 92 points Day 4: Great Syrah character. Roasted meats, white pepper, black olives, red currants and minerals. Medium plus finish. Holding strong. Long term ager based on this day 4 showing. 92 points. Recommendation: This wine needs a serious decant to be enjoyed now. Cellar window easily drinking well into 2030.
