I bought a lot of this affordable wine and I have just one bottle left now, but this latest one was excellent, and possibly the best yet. More rich and harmonious than one would expect for the price (it's equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese), it might not sear itself into your memory but it checks all the boxes and exceeds expectations, by itself or with a meal.

coppery purple, velvety texture; fresh nose, light fresh "white" flowers; smooth until finish which is sour cherry, nice, but a bit too much oak for me

PnP through an aerator. I did not get the sweet note that others have mentioned. Dark red fruit... was perfectly okay for the money. Had a little bit of a bitter taste at finish that knocked it down for me. Mrs. Coupe thought it was okay

Simple, but very satisfying. A very good weekday wine for the price. Easy drinking, lots of cherry, spice, chocolate. Full bodied, nice mouth feel, somewhat sweet finish, and still has some tannins. Drink or hold.

Notes of dark cherry, dark chocolate, with slight bitter unripe basil, some thyme, blackberries, and black currant. Drinking all more without a decant. Still slightly tannic, but quite pleasant and good friendly for meat dishes. Really great QPR on this! 91pts.

Said to be and equal blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot. Very tasty and serviceable burger wine. Opened and slow oxed 2 hours prior to dinner but pretty docile and expressive on opening. Semi opaque ruby red. Lifted with dark cherry, licorice, light underbrush and chocolate. Certainly the Merlot and Cabernet add a sense richness that would likely be absent if pure Sangiovese. Not old school but not overbearingly modern either. Nicely balanced and tasty. 13.5% alc. Good value for $11 locally. May go cheaper on sale.

Nice, moderate body. Light fruit. Dry. Keeper that will go well with foods for lighter reds.

Really great value as there are few Italian reds at this price level that are as good as this. Would gladly buy again as an everyday wine.
