I agree with the past few reviewers who gave it 90 points. Spot on! I think the 92 point score from Wine Enthusiasts is a bit high. That being said, it is a lovely wine and I think a year or two of cellar time will improve the wine. I found the tannins to be moderate and the acidity adequate with nice fruit. At $17 USD at Costco I will buy a few more.

A year on from our last bottle and it is settling well. Very deep colour, rich fruit on the nose. Lots of dark cherry and dark plum/damson fruit on the palate. The fruit seemed sweeter and the acidity and tannin softer. A little liquorice in the early stage but this did not persist. Some cedar on the long, late palate. Good with roast sirloin. Very good a few hours later, too. All in all, a fine and affordable left bank claret with a future. Bought on primeur but this vintage is still great value from The Wine Society at £16. Note. I presented this wine at a large tasting a month later and it was a great success. It benefitted from being opened and double-decanted 4-5 hours before pouring. Note 2. We opened another bottle 6h early in December 2023 and it took time to open - better after aeration (not simply removing the cork). Good with food. Good next day. The fruit was more dark plum/damson (rather than cherry) with damson skin tannins.

Prune, blueberry and violet on the nose. Blueberry and clove on the palate. High tannins. Medium plus acidity. Medium plus body. Medium plus intensity. Medium plus finish.
Geeat wine, consistently good every vintage. At it’s best now until 2028. Recommended!
This is a very good Left Bank Bordeaux for the decent price (20 euros). Displaying notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, leather and cedar, the wine is fruity and full-bodied, but also somewhat youthful and tight at the moment. I would expect it to become even more integrated, balanced and many-sided after a couple of years of ageing.

Very good left bank Bordeaux. Great example of what can be had at a very affordable price. Classic Medoc nose, blackcurrant, graphite, cedar. Fruit driven palate at this point with a little tertiary development on the finish, touch off leather. Medium finish. Medium bodied. Delightful

The wine looks crimson colored. It has a timid nose compared to expectation but smells like raisin, blueberry, oak and black pepper. It tastes like tar and tobacco. The body is medium/full. The wine has high acidity.
Would not buy this again.

Bright clear red, still a hint of purple. Young and very enjoyable. Oak very obvious. Smooth, almost sweet finish. Lots of fruit. Coped well with Chilli Con Carne. Tannin clear on the finish.

Dark; plush dark fruit, touch stewed; initially clunky with alcohol sticking out (double decanted & poured), settles down, big & hefty; power on a blackcurrant finish. May or may not turn out good. (14.5% alcohol).

Warm year but he notes that the best vintage they have ever produced. Why? - perfect conditions during the year. And then very good vinification and very nice balance and huge potential for aging. More opulent with fuller darker fruit than '16. Really wonderful Cabernet fruit notes to it.

I bought this bottle based on strong recommendation and rating and my rating is going to rile somebody up but it really wasn't my cup of tea. It hit all the notes that people reported. Blackcurrant - ticked. Cassis - ticked. Earthy - ticked. Spices - ticked. Herbs - ticked. Oak - ticked. Very long chalky finish with high tannins. I think it might just be too complex. It felt to me a bit like The Reader. It is critically a great movie and was nominated for the Oscar but watching it is not a pleasant experience to the gen pop. Also don't bother to try pairing it with food. This wine will Hulk Smash everything.

Fruit aromas are almost muted, but you do get some earthy aromas along with herbs & game. Some yeast also but that goes way quickly.
Palate is juicy black fruits, sage tea, thyme, mint ,forest floor, hint of red fruit, oak & pepper at the end. More so after the pop and pour.
High acidity with not so overwhelming dry tannins. The finish on this wine is long & pleasant during the first 40 minutes. After that (5hr) it becomes a bit Savory, dry and chalky.

Opened 6h before tasting. Good colour and nose. Very soft ‘sweet’ fruit on the complex palate with spice and soft tannins. It got better in the glass with time. Hints of sour cherry stones on the end palate later (nice, not a criticism). I would not normally open a Beaumont after only 4 years but this was a very pleasant surprise. This was the highest scoring wine at a group tasting, enjoyed by every member of a group of 12. Excellent.

I think this is the cheapest wine available en primeur. I usually can't resist getting a case...and it almost always disappoints (mid- to low 80s)!! But the 2018 is several standard deviations better than any previous vintage. It's almost new world in its vigour and silkiness. I won't say it will improve a lot more....but lovely to get a glimpse how good (hopefully) the bigger stars of this vintage will be.

Rubied, crimson rim; plenty of black fruits, forward; some tannins, a little rough & ready, medium bodied, flattering acidy; blackcurrant pastilles on assertive finish. Long. Needs a little more time.

Amsterdam UGCB Tasting (Amstel Boathouse, Amsterdam, NL): Good cherry and berry fruit, floral top notes, hint of smoke, medium body, light but supple and juicy style, overall attractive but slightly drying tannins, decent length.

Peppery red fruits, cedar and tobacco leaf create the character for this medium-bodied, soft-textured, earthy wine that will be great for early drinking pleasure.

Quite a dark colour; ripe, soft, blackcurrant and plum fruit, with good weight and nicely rounded. Enjoyable now but may improve.

A few months made this wine taste a little better.
Strong earthy aromas along with cedar, oak, cassis, blackberry and iron.
Juicy black fruits with some orange zest, oak, potting soil, iron, light coffee, black cherry and hint of black pepper. This was very enjoyable.
