Color starting to show a bit of age, but opens up quite quickly. Nose is almost entirely damp earth and forest floor. Palate shows a nice core of red fruit and a generous mid palate depth. Shows now as a nicely resolved and mature wine.

Showing gorgeously, spicy exotic fruit and spice and licorice on the nose, fresh and clean. Silky and balanced on the palate with taut dark fruit, yum!

Westchester Wine School: Affordable Pinot Noir: Drank at WWS Pinot tasting. Dark ruby color, no age showing in glass. Truffles & mushrooms quite apparent on the nose. More earth than fruit in the glass, but still sufficient red fruit/cherries here. Medium bodied, round mouthfeel, tannins still present & slightly grippy. Not a particularly elegant wine, though one gets a sense of slight silkiness on the palate. Not a particularly complex wine either--the nose showed far more complexity, and was more enjoyable than the wine itself. I did note that this wine improved dramatically over time in the glass. Decant next time

First day - nothing. Totally closed. Second day - Earthy red and blue mineral driven aromas. Really pretty and very Gevrey. Medium full bodied. Rich red fruit and iron flavorswith very good mid-palate sweetness. Tannins are a bit tough now but seem ripe and do not dominate the fruit. Finish is long and chewy with a nice touch of wood. This is one to lay down as it is'nt very flattering here in its youth - it probably just got off the boat - but this seems to have all the elements to age into something very pretty.

Nice crunchy red fruit. Still a bit tight with good depth and acidity. Can go another 15 year but enjoyable now. Will get better over next 3-5 years.

In a nice spot now. Spicy, sappy elements mix so well with the bright red fruits. Nice mouthfeel.

Served at K&L at a wine tasting: quick notes: sweet black pepper on the nose; medium weight with a dry finish. Fair.
