Terrific nose right off the start, smoked and cured meats, spicy tobacco, leathers, some nice earthy tones, and surprisingly robust red and black cherry fruit. Nose expands further over a few hours in the glass. Delivers a wallop of ripe fruit on the palate. Tannins have melted away completely, this is both silky and syrupy. Bottle obviously in perfect condition. Wine in a great place for drinking right now, great development and complexity with good energy still. Awesome.

85 first day score...93 second day score...tobacco leather notes give way to simply luscious 21 year old fruit...smooth and supple...sorry to have only one bottle...but a real gem...glad to have met you!
