  • Value Bordeaux. Needs 2h to open. Intense colour. Slight dark cassis, light barique with light alkohol in the nose. Ripe Cab-Sauvignon driven wine. Bone dry, slight bitterness, perfect for a meat or mediteranian dish. If compare with Oversee Cabs, it is more elegant and dry. No sweetness. 2018 was an extreamly hot Bx vintage. This is a ripe Cab-Sauvignon driven red with a cool climate attitude. Drink this red now or in the next 5-8 years.

  • Had it at a tasting. Was given one freshly opened and one with 2 hour carafe. No discernable nose on the first and the flavor was "flat" without character. After 2 hours, nose of dark berry. Taste is dry with notes of raisins and rubber or tobacco, like a Priorat from Spain. Probably needs 6 years and then it could be a 90-92.

  • An opaque ruby blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, Clos Floridène's 2018 offers a lot of bang for the buck. From a bottle that was Vinturi-decanted and serially tasted over the ensuing three hours, it delivers a generous payload of red fruit that is flanked with savory herbs, tobacco, violets and earth. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic and with alcohol (14%) that has assimilated better than the oak and tannins at this young stage, it retains good presence in the middle and concludes with a lengthy, albeit grippy finish. This will benefit from short-term cellaring and may merit a higher score if it fleshes out as anticipated. If you choose to pop the cork now, give it plenty of air. Drink 2024-2033.

  • This bottle was, for me, a bit too much middle of the road, friendly, but missing a bit the concentration I expected.

  • On night 1 was mostly toasty oak and wood tannin. There was dark plush fruit underneath but hard to enjoy. (No decant). By night 3 this has come around. Oak had receded, though there was a strong toast note on the nose mixed with flint and dark currants. Plush palate, fine tannins that turn rather austere on the back end—leaving dry dry.

  • 91 vvPunkte Leuchtendes Rubinrot. 2022-2033 (April 2021)

  • With a ripe, fresh, metallic, cherry note, the wine is medium-bodied, soft, and fruity, with loads of ripe, red plums in the finish. You can drink this forward styled wine on release.
