Decanted four hours beforehand. Inky dark red N: black fruit, cassis, mint, tobacco leaves, hint of green P: sweet fruit, vanilla, easy going, uncomplicated, nice balance, medium mouthfeel, short finish, tannins integrated, slightly woody

I opened this half-bottle (bought on sale) to use as a sauce wine…but after tasting it…immediately used something else! While it has a very restrained nose of black and blue (plum) fruit and tobacco, the creamy body and dry but silkily gliding finish seemed in beautiful harmony. I enjoyed this throughout a pleasant, leisurely steak dinner at home.

Slightly more tight and austere than last time although double decanted. Crushed red fruit, perfumed cassis on nose. Marked tannins. Balance is there. Opened up some during evening but I would let this one rest a year or two before trying again.

Savoury, meaty, muted plummy fruit, slight red fruit note, sweet spice, very slight caramel. Juicy, more red fruited on the plate, savoury with yeast extract, tight tannic grip though this still retains a little freshness, Non intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish, Hmm

Walkabout tasting, so only brief impressions. Of all the Silvio Denz wines today, this was the only that was well balanced. Very good dark fruit, lovely mouth feel and tannins. Medium length, a good entry level Bdx.

N: cassis, red cherry, vanilla, alcohol P: cool and fresh, cherry, raspberry, strawberry, woody tannins initially. Developped into black merlot fruit, no disturbance from alcohol. A great wine for the money now with good cellar potential.

Toller Wert. Jetzt bis 2028. 89+

Big wine, lots of fruit but complex. Medium tannin. This was my first borgeaux and it was wonderful. I will buy again for any beef dinner. Went wonderfully with my cheese plate

Fresh and juicy, the wine pops with all its ripe, plums, cherries, licorice, coffee bean, cocoa and spice. Lush, opulent and packed with sweet, red and dark red berries, this is good now, but a few more years in the cellar will make it even better. The wine was made from a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Really good and ready to go. Dark purple, medium body, flavors of sweet cherries and blackberry. Tasty balanced finish.
