I’ve had this once before only 4-5 months ago. This bottle seemed more developed and in fact a little irregular. It’s still a good wine but the first was clear as a bell and I would probably rate it 92 with room for improvement.

Robust nose with toast, brioche and some citrus. Ripe on the palate with a full body, integrated acidity, citrus, and a toasty finish. Highly recommended! This is drinking well now, but certainly has 10 years in it.

A particularly fine example. Last bottle of the 2006 Gratien was unremarkable as my tasting note shows. Not this one! Like sherries, bottle variations can be marked. Lovely wine.

Gratien has been my bread and butter champagne over the last few years. First vintage tasted was the 98, then 2000, 2002, 2007.I have always rated this producer as value for money. The 2006 is probably my least favourite. The wine was Gratien alright but perhaps a tad simpler than the other vintages I have tasted. This is the first bottle tasted of a case of 6. It will be interesting to see how other samples compare.

Definitely one of my favorite champagnes... excellent balance of fruit, acidity, oak, and yeast... Compared to some growers champagnes it could pack a bit more punch but still extremely balanced and elegant.
I think it still has some years ahead of itself...

Toast and yeasty, bit of oxidized apple, generous bead, no cream Delicious with food/foie gras, rillettes, caviar, king eggrolls and fresh rolls

Very nice. Could still lay for 10+ years. Apple and brioche dominant.

Surprisingly attractive, not the finest mousse, steady largish bubbles, nice biscuity nose, lovely depth of flavour, quite layered for champagne, upside. F+ (18).

Too opulent due to vintage, citrus but too broad in the finish. 90
