Full nose of strawberries, powerful cherries, and hints of roses. Palate inky berries and fruit, red fruit caresses with a massive finish that goes on for minutes need it five hour decant to show its expression. The wine was wonderful with a dinner of Oso Buco, With polenta.
Notes from night 2 (better night 1 - more fresh). On nose, sandalwood, red currants, cherry, tobacco and cedar. Palate had similar flavor profile ex cedar/sandalwood. Fruit moving to the dried out specturum as well. Full body, rich tannins, high acidity and long finish. 92-93. Can tell this is a warm vintage wine.

Gasthof schupfen in diessenhofen, my favourite local place, recommended by guide Michelin and I have never been disappointed. As it s my bday time for a favourite. Medium ruby color. Mint, milk chocolate, dried cherries, roses, Mediterranean herbs, olives, lots of things on the nose. Med+ acidity, high alcohol (14.5), full body, med flavor intensity, med tannins and med finish. Medicinal herbs, dried cherries, nice salinity, acidity is still high. Excellent already, but still very young so definitely can use a couple of hours of decanting.

2015 Produttori & Friends (Nella Kitchen & Bar, Los Olivos, CA): Light to medium bodied. Dark fruit, licorice and smoke, with loads of structure. The bottle struggled to stand out amongst its brethren, coming across as somewhat undistinguished, something I am sure will dissipate in the coming years.

Not as floral as the Asili , aromas of violet, cranberry, cherry, black cherry, and oak. The palate was the same but with licorice. Tannins were rougher compared to Asili and Montestefano. More dark fruit than the Asili but not as refined as the Montestefano. Drink in 2025

Produttori Del Barbaresco Muncagota 2015 On the nose, fresh cut flowers, alpine flowers, wild herbs, some smoke, and alluring scents of mint and thyme. On the palate, fresh red cherries with great acidity, some hints of licorice and mint, some thyme and dried herbs, a well rounded mid palate, elegant, with fresh acidity which is zingy, some herbaceous characters and even savoury meat, good length. Delicious actually. 94/100

Opened 2 hours. Color is brick red . On the nose : Tart cherry, strawberry and rose. On the palate: Cherry, strawberry , rose, licorice, baking spices and forest floor. Finish is nice and long and the flavors are quite broad. This is young and very good. I just love how this Coop produces such quality and does not over price it. Great value in world class wine.

Roses, tar, smoky bacon, dark cherry, red currant - generally this is quite dark on the nose. Strong ripe fruit up front / medium + body / dry, gamey, airy, iron filings character in the mid-palate / lovely spine of juicy acidity that keeps this fresh. This is a real beauty actually and a winning combination with the richness of beef shin pasta. Fine velvety tannins. Drank on the 2nd day which revealed even greater structure - needs to be left for 10 years ideally.

A shy nose, this takes several hours to open up with rose, sweet strawberries and leather. The palate is lively, fresh and juicy with lovely morello cherry, though at this stage the sour tannin soon closes in and is there throughout the long finish. The tannin is not overbearing and I think is just very young, so no great cause for concern. That said, I do question the wisdom of opening now, hence the lower score. There is lots of ripe, exciting fruit here, but I think it is at least 5 years away from hitting its stride.

sb Brilliant ruby with a hint of garnet at the rim Light cherry and rose aromas Some sweet cherry fruit with a huge tannin punch. Tons going on and approachable now, but wait

Quite nice nose of rose, dusty earth, anise and tobacco. Emphasis on latter two. Palate was very restrained and dominated by earth notes on night one. Strong tannins. On night two palate was more rose and dust focused, tannins had settled some. Enjoyable but not spectacular.

Served blind Scarlet ruby with a hint of age at the rim Tons of structure and sweet fruit battling it out. This is lovely, but needs time to settle down. But delicious to brave through it now
