Deep and dense. Plums, cassis and black raspberries and a touch of smoke and dust. Good tannins still, suggesting another year or two of improvement and several years of life after that.

And another one bites the dust! This one was definitely showing more of the chalky, brambly black cherry fruit and definitely more of a red fruit than black fruit characteristic. But I was still getting some espresso, chocolate, and definitely a ton of Rutherford dust on the finish. This one is really starting to kick some butt.

This is the first of the 2016 Cabs from WHWines. And, yeah. It's gonna take a lot of willpower to keep the other ones at the locker. This wine is a dark, fruit forward expression of Rutherford Cabernet. Nose and palate of dark baking chocolate, fruitcake spice, dark roasted youthful and sweet blackberry backbone. Smoked meats and soy sauce in the background. Dusty, chalky tannic finish, yet still very balanced and integrated in its youth. This wine is special and I look forward to following all the 16s from WHWines which have quite a lot of life ahead of them. Get 6, drink 2, hold 4.

PnP. This is in a great place. Classic cab of black currant, roasted herbs. Full bodied, smooth, strong finish. Its drinking so well now, hard to see much improvement.

Still too young.
Very smooth, intensely different to the 2015
