Still deep color. Lots of black and blue fruits in the nose and flavor. Blackberries, black cherries, blueberries, and plums, with hints of licorice, tobacco and herbalness. Well balanced, nice acidity, and a long finish.

Very good. Drank over 3 nights using Coravin and continued to improve. Dark purple burgundy, with dark fruits, some remaining chewy tannin and a bit of sweetness. Long life ahead.

Big and modern style Rioja. Very nice, still has a ton of structure that will clearly allow it to age nicely for many years to come... But still very approachable today. Lots of dark fruit help balance out the big chewy tannins. I like how this wine walks the line of classic and new world styles bringing a good bit of both flavors to the table.

this is my first bottle of "cult"wine it is a few hunderd euros cheaper than its big brother and i don't now if his brother is worth the money. this one though is very, very good! i loved this wine, extremely well made rioja and for the price 75 euro i would buy it again!
But for 29 euro you can buy bodegas AALTO and its the same grape and i know this is rioja and not ribera del duero! but my advice would be; aalto is fantastic and this.... well ill let the judgement up to you!

Black color. Smoky nose of paint thinner. There is so much alcoholic heat in this wine that the flavors appear bitter. A really bad effort at over the top winemaking. Tasted double blind.

Tasted twice in two days, neither time with detailed notes (unfortunately).
I was lucky enough to try Romeo's eponymous cuvee at the same time. While the La Vina de Andres Romeo is a great wine, I actually preferred this offering because of its better balance, but that may be a temporary condition. However, given the price difference I'll buy the La Cueva del Contador.

Beautiful dark berries, sweet spices. Dull body, more dark berries albeit underripe and fresh in nature. Rounded and drinking perfectly right now.

Dark, sweet fruit. High acidity, with restrained nose. I think this will continue to improve with age.

Full raspberry-blueberry; developing; soft; narrowly focused.
