  • Sweet with dark fruit and complementary sweet oak. Something a tiny bit grating and it's become less interesting than a few years ago but still feels nice and Washington. Drink now.

  • At that fantastic point where the youth is still there but the mature characteristics are adding depth and plenty of complexity. Might benefit from another couple of year's relaxation.

  • It needed about 30 minutes for a little sulfer funk to blow off, but after that it was quite good. Very smooth on the palate with dark fruit and a bit of baking spice. Drink up now.

  • Discovered this at the back of the cellar. Deep red-garnet color. Lovely, almost veloptuous nose of red fruit, some oak, and a bit fo spice - came across as plush but can't explain why. On the palate it was velvety and lacking in structure or acidity, but there was still ample fruit to carry it. At peak now it seems since there's nothing to hold up the fruit.

  • Popped and poured. It's apparent my prior bottle was flawed - this is much better. Dark color, a little muddy. Nose shows dark fruits, some earthiness and a nice vegetal aspect. Palate follows with black cherries, green peppers and a little oak, but not overdone at all. Medium tannins hit on the midpalate through a medium finish. Overall an enjoyable wine - based on my prior bottle, I was ready to give it a quick try and pitch it, but it ended up being a pleasant surprise. 5+12+16+6.

  • Decanted one hour. Fairly mature red-garnet, still opaque at the center. Classic cab franc nose of herbs, red fruit, earth, and some cedar. Starting to thin out on the palate but still a nice drink with prominent fruit, but just barely, and some complexity. This bottle was certainly on its downward slide but nice nonetheless.

  • Popped and poured. Dark but translucent color. Nose is overwhelmed by oak and alcohol, we'll see if this settles down with some air. Palate follows with a heavy dose of sweet oak and some red and black fruit on the attack, with dry tannins hitting on the midpalate through a relatively short and hot finish. I didn't expect this to be profound, but I also didn't expect this to show like sub $10 mass produced, overoaked swill either. I'll try this again in awhile, but very disappointing at this point. 5+9+12+2.

  • The nose is quite satisfying and deep in its richness. The serious shade of red is accompanied by a "just broke up with my boyfriend" taste. Quite lovely for an evening with the girls. Pairs well with gossiping, sassiness, and much more. On the palate, a hint of untamed sexiness and hedonism. Quite the LEGS which you always want to see. Offers Belgium bubble yum grape flavors that are infused with pomegranate, kumquat and litchi. Finishes as tenacious as the astroturf after Super Bowl Sunday.

  • Decanted about 2 hours. Effusive nose of cherries, eucalyptus, oak, earth and something vegetal (though not in an unpleasant way). Much richer on the palate than the last bottle. Ripe and full. All in all, a delicious cab franc that seems to straddle the line between Loire and Bordeaux. It is ripe yet it retains the funk that makes cab franc interesting. Delicious now and I can't see it improving, especially since it's bottled with composite platic corks.

  • Decanted 2 hours. Deep, almost opaque purple-red color. Lovely nose of menthol, spice, tar, and rich red fruits. Lighter on the palate than expected, even for a Cab Franc, but the impression is complete. Good fruit and a good finish. It will be very interesting to see how this develops. It is delicious now but seems a little reticent on both the nose and palate right now. There appears to be enough tannin, fruit and structure for it to develop for quite a while. Certainly worth the asking price of $25. Note: The wine is bottled, regratably, with a composite cork, so I wonder wonder how long it will keep.

  • Overall, very good ! My first impression was amazement at the garnet/falu color - beautiful. Initially, there was a hint of oak on the bouquet which quickly subsided. Wonderful scents of plum and pencil shavings. First sip was a strong cherry, but smoothed into a mellow blackberry flavor. Delicious. The only thing that kept this out of the upper 80's - low 90's was that it had a slightly hot/dry finish. Will buy again. Would go great with a strong cheddar or something spicy !!!
