exotic, Mango, sweet pineapple, dense, peppery, slate minerality, aromatic and powerful nose, palate follows this impression, rich and concentrated, typical for the warm vintage, quite heavy due to high alcohol and rather low acidity, powerful Saar Riesling with a long finish

Golden color. Gorgeous nose that hints at ripe peach and nectarine with a touch of baking spice. The palate shows the richness of the nose yet is bracingly dry. Not a ding just a bit of a shock. I want a bit more on the finish. I’ve had much better from Lauer - maybe just needs time. There is a lot of dry extract. (90?)

Insgesamt doch eher hell, sehr spannende Mineralik.
Gute Länge, sehr guter Extrakt, spürbar pfeffrig.

I could smell this all day. I get peach and lime. The palate reminds me of lemonade, with butterscotch and minerality on the finish. A tad simple but very tasty. I have read that the 2018 vintage should be consumed young, but I’m inclined to give this a little more time. It kept improving with air.

Pop and pour. Dark peach, hazelnut, soft toast..almost like von Winning in style. On the palate: fantastic density, lovely fruit. Wow, nothing like other Lauer I've ever had.

I believe it needs heaps of time and aeration to show its best, after a Stromberg from Schaffer Frolich, that one felt a bit dull, or weak, as riper, less crisp.
nose of exotic, and ripe stone fruits, hint of pétroled minerality
lacks the zing and punchy finish, still a nice attack with good fruit, and some body, a tannic sensation somewhat. Very strange but interesting palate.
give it 3/5 more years probably

Big opulent nose. Lychee, apricot, melon, juicy pear, pineapple... smokey leesy notes, honeysuckle, iris, wild herbs, mint, peppercorns, black tea... super complex and intense. Soft and round but plenty fresh. Long and fruit oriented, but the finish has plenty of intrigue, including a beautiful lingering woodsy peppercorn note. This should be worth saving for at least a decade. Quite rich and exotic for a Saar GG, it is nonetheless fabulously fresh and I love it.

A wonderful golden color, This came across completely different compared to the Fab 12. The nose showed a lot of smoky characters blended with flint, white pepper, and ripe orchard fruit along with tropical fruit. The palate tasted a little richer, spicier, and full compared to the Fab 12, with notes of pineapple, peaches, and apricots. The mid-palate had a great saline texture along with good concentration. The finish lingered and was spicy, this certainly would match perfectly with a slightly heavier dish or an Indian curry.

This took the longest out of the 3 layer GGs to show itself, after a couple of hours nice mix of tropical, stone fruits, citrus rinds and grey minerals on the nose, really good fruit on the palate, slight austerity to the mid palate that I expect will soften with a few years in bottle

Deep yellow; white fruits, lime, assertive; dry, powerful, rigid; intense, lingering finish. Leave alone for couple+ years.

Enttäuschend , breit und eindimensional , es fehlt eigentlich alles, was Saar ausmacht : Säure , Mineralität, Rasse…
Schlechte Flasche ?

Day 2, way better today, the petrol smell stil there but way more citrus as well, and stone fruits.
Palate is where it shows really more, with a zesty finish today and a good balance between today and acidity, needs air and time... not a surprise.
Good Wine
