My second bottle of this purchased from a local wine store. Disappointing again. A bit watery, some oak, tart, and little fruit. I’m thinking these must not be representative. Perhaps a storage issue at the store.

We really enjoyed this wine. Upon opening, there was a low layer of grapefruit and more pronounced peach. As we drink it a mango flavor, full in the mouth settled in. And at the end there was a touch of butter that we found quite nice. I think it is at its peak and ready to go.

From memory, also had the Pinot, and perhaps it's just my evolving pallet, but it was one of the most heavily oaked whites I recall having. Was a bit difficult to drink, even with food. The oak was so pronounced and distracting that it was difficult to rate the wine's other qualities. That said, Hansel is quite successful, and lots of lovers of this bottle out there. The wine looks straw colored.

Straw/light gold in color. Apple and spice aromas. Rich on the palate with some unusual flavors I can’t identify. Takes about 45 minutes to open up. Good long finish.

I love this funky little wine. Actually, it isn’t little at all. There is lots of textural depth here. It’s creamy and a little viscous but there is some good lift in the background. The nose is quite funky with a prominent aroma that lies somewhere between toasted green almond and coffee bean (leans coffee bean). Pear and apple chime in too. Round, ripe and moderately layered. Good stuff.

Needs a little air time... was 92 but tight on opening, got better to 93 after 30 minutes, and opened up fully to 94 after 45 minutes. A beautiful mid-weight CA Chard with all the right stuff at a great price.

Meyer lemons, ripe peaches, butter, almost fresh baked bread notes. A lot of oak for someone who drinks more French chardonnay; but nothing out of control. Medium body, medium acid. Really well balanced

P: Med, poss MF, body; RNDISH entry with nice, ALMOST swtish OAK/frt counterbalanced by a crisp acidity which controls the action into & through the LONG, TANGY/swt (65:35) finish with just a TOUCH of oaky harshness. Decently done in the style, but *I'd* strive to drink it during the next yr or so to avoid the risk of oaky harshness dominating. [And yes, I'm aware that at least 2 "Pro" reviewers feel it NEEDS cellaring!] My EXC-; 93+ Vinous (Galloni, 5/1/19) & 91+ WA (Erin Brooks, 12/’19). Deep golden color, rich on the palate, but not a long finish. Very good, but not great. Not at all the impression I got from the last bottle.

No formal note, well done, not overly oaked, in balance, excellent fruit expression.

Color is deep straw. A little bretty on the nose. Body is full and complex. Oak presence is a bit too much.

Drank during iGourmet Thursday Cheese-o’Clock. Substituted it for Jordan
Worked well with the cheeses.
Excellent balance. Really enjoyable.
Better of the two wines. Best cheese was Cascadia Creamery Sawtooth.
