  • Pnp with an aerator.....enjoyed over a total of about 5 hours.....dark purple in the glass. Black fruit nose with a hint of molasses, cassis and as Agelvis said 'ice cream sandwich'. That note was dead bang on with the nose. Palate of blackberry/black currant fruit with a hint of orange rind on the back end. Tannins are well integrated and smooth. Weight is quite heavy in the mouth with excellent balance of the acidity and all elements. Clearly, Kamen's best wine they make, every vintage that I've had the pleasure of trying. 2nd WOTN by a hair for me.

  • PNP through an aerating spout. Very deep ruby magenta color. Neapolitan ice cream sandwich, blackberry, fig, and subtle orange rind. Dry, velvety palate. Full tannins on the longish finish.

This would have benefited from a one or two hour decant. Really pleasant representation of Moon Mountain. Great combination of fruit and winemaking. Mark1NPT opened this and several other terrific bottles during the Thanksgiving dinner he and Carol hosted.

  • Brawny and beautiful, with a racy finish that keeps on giving.

  • Tasted at the Kamen Estate up on Moon Mtn last week. I picked up a couple of bottles after joining the wine club. This particular bottle showed signs of seepage after flying home with it in the wine luggage. Opened for HMC tonight and it drank beautifully. Needs all of about 15-20 minutes to open fully. Beautifully sublime classy cab nose......dark fruited, lead pencil. Well integrating tannins and rich, yet soft fruit. This is exceptionally well put together, balanced and drinking beautifully. It has a lot of '16 power so it can go quite a while but no issue popping one now if you have extras. Just a beautifull wine. Winemaker is Mark Herold.

  • Smooth cab from start to finish. Tasting note indicates drinkable now and for the next 25 years. Shining star of a smaller organic Sonoma winery turning out a fantastic product.
