Blackberry, blueberry, plum, dark cherry, mocha. Full-bodied Paso, but beneath it all, a bit of bacon fat, iron and pepper. Tannins to the fore right now, but evolving in the glass. Another 3-4 years might be beneficial...

Couldn't wait any longer to try it. Did not get disappointed. Decanted for 2 hr. but wine was still developing in the glass . Blue fruit on the nose and on the palate. Herbs and wet stones lingering with medium to long finish. Resembles more expensive Cote-Rotie. Thank you Denner.

After Christmas Gathering; 12/26/2022-12/27/2022 (Our House): Really nice! I know, that's a useless descriptor! But that was our initial and lasting perception. Dark and spicy nose. Mostly dark fruits with a bit of brighter something going on. Our opinion was that it is drinking quite well now, but it could likely go for another couple of years. If you wait, you may get a more muted and reserved wine. Just my two cents.
Decanted for two hours.

Denner just produces a great syrah. And Dirt W is our favorite of his line up. Very dark fruit forward, with quite a bit of complexity and ability to age and evolve....but we will never know, because it will be gone long before its full evolution.

Opened last night. Still a bit muted, more promise than current pleasure. Still a primary dark red. Nice nose of primarily Syrah is very pretty and aromatic. Palate is a bit reticent, more earthy than fruity. Still, shows plenty of promise; I'd hold off a few more years for this wine to reach its full potential. 5-12-15-8: 90/100. Should score higher in future.

Nose The wine is pronounced intensity with aromas of blueberry, plum, blackberry, sweet ripe strawberry jam, with slight green pepper and fresh picked thyme
Palate The wine is dry with high acidity, high tannins, medium + alcohol and a full body. The wine exhibits pronounced flavors of very ripe plum, blackberry, cherry, blueberry, and savory herbs with a medium finish.
Conclusions This wine is very good. The acid, tannins and alcohol are evenly balanced, but this will get better and smoother with several more years in the bottle.
PS: If you ever get a chance to visit the Denner winery, do it! We visited in April 2021. It's spectacular. And the staff, including Ron Denner himself, are so welcoming!
Dark purple color. Big and bold, peppery. The co-fermented rousanne and viognier adds a great backdrop. Aerated into glass, opened up nicely over a couple hours. Enjoyed by all.

Insane wine, great bouquet, dark purple color, intense flavor, complexity and great structure, the wine drinks so easily, great fruit that has that purity of flavor, drank with barbecued ribs, not sure I can get another bottle.
Thin in viscosity, dark fruit. At first I thought the balance was just beautiful, but on further tasting the acid came off a bit overpowering. Had been decanted earlier at a tasting event, not sure how long.

Had with lamb chops on Easter.
Wonderful nose. Plums, cassis, leather on the nose.
Cigar box on the palate.
Long, nice finish.
Good strong tannins still there. I think it could last another few years.
