Disintegrated. Disaggregated. Disappointing. Better the second day, for sure. But I doubt this will ever knit together. Each element: Cab, Merlot, Cab Franc, competes for the attention, with the Cab Franc brassy notes coming to the fore. Maybe in three years? Five? I doubt it. Advice?
Another nice showing from a Napa Valley red blend. Almost equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, this shows savory tones of bright red fruit, conifer, and oak spice on the nose. Plump, succulent, and very balanced, it turns dark fruited and develops licorice the longer it sits. Lovely all around.

Persistencia media. Dejar respirar para rebajar las aristas.

Picked up on a wine-tasting tour of Napa Valley. Most tasting rooms were closed or booked (Pandemic don'tyaknow) but was referred to this small producer in Calistoga, who purchases and blends their own small lots. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (38%), Cabernet Franc (34%) & Merlot (28%) sourced from Napa Valley, 14.2% abv - $32.
Opened that evening to serve with appetizers, and was pleasantly surprised. Nice Deep Red on the pour, Red raspberry and blackberry on the nose, carrying over to the palate. Medium bodied, this is a fairly hearty wine. Prominent Tannins that seemed just a little harsh or woody, but might smooth-out with some cellaring, or just with exposure as the evening wore-on. Medium pleasant finish. A Very Nice wine.

Comes off a bit thin and not fully integrated. Cab and Merlot? Not the classic Napa profile
