Thanksgiving Wines; 11/27/2020-11/28/2020 (Pow Mow Hotel Utah): It's a blend that is more than the sum of its parts. Driven by the Riesling but there is so much going on. flowers, stone fruits, and minerality on the nose. The palate leads with lime, minerality, some apple, and spice. I get hints of kiwi and tropical fruits a bit on the mid-palate which rounds into a nice acid-driven finish. The mouthfeel is wonderful, you get hints of the barrel and some oily mouthfeel in a chiseled but slightly rounded wine. Its not easy to describe other than its delicious as always. Served as a digestif after some big Napa cabernets and Flannery beef. Everyone loves this wine. Such a wonderful way to finish a meal. It just lifts and cleanses the palate. Its one of my favorite wines every vintage.

54% Riesling, 20% Pinot Noir, 20% Pinot Blanc, 6% Gewurtraminer. Key lime, stone fruit, some tropical notes, vibrant acidity makes the fruit bright, but has good structure to age. (A recently tasted 2015 bottled under the Matello label was still fresh and vibrant and actually better on day 2). A tremendous value. A wine I buy every vintage based on its consistent track record.

This bottle went down quick. Nice stone fruits and citrus, some white florals, wet stone. Palate follows with a touch of spice on it as well, which im assuming is from the gewurztraminer Lively acidity

Delicious Alsatian blend. Riesling dominant. Orchard stone fruit on the nose. Lime pairs well with the slightly oily texture. Orchard fruit carries through on the palate Bright but has body (maybe from the Pinot noir/Blanc). Easy drinker but stands up to food. Crowd pleasing wine.

Drank last week, no real notes - Killer value, luscious but electric texture, a wine for food and also for savoring by itself. Would love to taste this with some age on it but IMO this is also drinking perfectly right now, so I doubt my bottles will last past next summer.

Pleasant wine—would prefer more zip and aromatics from the riesling. Assume it’s the Pinot noir lending things a rounder feel.
